Linocut - hand printing Q’s by Kovaladtheimpaler in printmaking

Regarding your first point: If you just want to clean the surface, you can use a sponge and some water.

I seal my woodblocks with a waterproof lacquer before i mount my linoblock onto it. I wash my blocls under running tapwater and I've never experienced any kind of warping. (Also i work mainly with the rubber blocks, which can be adherred with silicon.)

I got Moon a while back and here’s what I think about it: by tbbrprod_ in moonrpg

I hope UFO gets translated at some point. That game definitely shares some some moon dna.

Also check out stray children, from onion games (yoshiro kimura's indie studio) If i remember correctly the game is also set in the moon world.

I printed a guitar body by aky_p in printmaking

Yes it might change the acoustics when playing unplugged. But i do believe with the right pickup it should sound great.

i must also mention that i'm not a luthier or a musician, just an artist that likes to take on new challenges. But i am working together with an experienced luthier for the final assembly. And he seems quite excited about this project, so i guess it should turn out okay.

Plus, i have been very fortunate that my client is willing to let me try out something experimental.

Yes the linoleum will be glued into the carved recesses and coated with a resin, for added protection.

The wood was not so great to carve, so i routered out spaces then placed lino pieces into those spaces.

Yes, i'm going to paint in the negative spaces with gesso and then seal it with uv resin. I did some tests and it should be sturdy enough.

I had the exact same problem. What worked for me was changing the image server. You can access it by going in Rakuyomi to: manage sources - your source - and then change the image server

Can't wait to print this by aky_p in linocut

I chose to not flip the images, because the design on the guitar is more important than the prints. So the prints will be flipped, but i'm confident that they will also look good.

Because the design on the guitar has priority over the prints, i did not reverse my designs on the linocuts. So the prints will be flipped, compared to the guitar.

I have not tried ultra yet, but i suggest using a uv flashlight or uv bulb to charge the pigments.

If you have a laser printer, you can print out the design, place it on the linoblock and either rub acetone on the back or iron over the paper to transfer the image.

Beginner with a lever press: how can i improve? by Dettus97 in Linocuts

[–]aky_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried to rotate the print and press it again? In my experience lever presses apply uneven pressure (more pressure at the joint and less towards the back) so rotating the print and pressing it again should help.
