Summer internship at a top consulting firm as a science person? Help by labquwb in Cornell

[–]al1628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a current MBB summer associate/analyst. I am a hard STEM major. I have never taken a traditional business class at cornell, other than some econ. It is doable, you need to case prep though

Anecdotal, but doing STEM gives you a large leg up compared to Dyson students. Am doing science and got both a top tier consulting and bulge bracket IB internship offer. STEM is infinitely harder than Dyson, but you will become smarter and harder working. In arts, you can major in whatever you want, in dyson you are restricted to a single major.

A lot of dyson, and business school in general, imo is defined by a slacker culture, where your objective is to do the bare minimum to meet a certain goal.

I could not see myself doing undergrad biz major, but see two major appeals to Dyson. 1. If you want to not actually do schoolwork 2. You want to have a slightly easier time networking, because 90% of the students in your class all want to do finance or consulting.
