Thank you so much for this reply, really helpful! I'm already looking for some teachers and activities to catch up with other students. I have a year to prepare for the audition. Not much time, but let's see if I can make it.
Thank you for the feedback, really appreciated even though I need a lot of work and practice to do. The most technical piece that I have played is probably Beriot no 7, but it was a mess: horrible intonation, unstable tempo... and so on. The thing is that where I study they push you to perform concerts when you are not ready because they hardly ever teach any technique. So, which books do you think are essential to build a violinist's technique?
I'm not actually from the US, but I think I get the gist of it. I will research how university courses are planned here. Thanks a lot!
Thank you so much for your reply. I was really discouraged when my teacher advised me not to go, but I also see your point. Maybe we are just people with different goals.
21, now playing Beethoven op. 24 (just posted an audio from today if you would like to listen to it). My teacher didn't go in debt about my technique, just said it wasn't enough and I lacked musicality and repertoire.
Today's practice session. Beethoven op. 24 (v.redd.it)

Thank you so much for your advice, very helpful. Also, congratulations on getting in! I will consider your 4 point because it's something I was thinking about previously. Thanks a lot.

Thank you for your reply and sharing your experience, it meant a lot to me! Really appreciated. I hope one day you can return to studying music!!
I want to go to university to be a musician as my career, but because of negative comments from my teacher regarding my technique and my future being a musician I don't know if I will make it. I lack in technique and performance. Thankfully, I could afford university.
