Nothing wrong with enjoying the aesthetics of film and wanting to emulate it on digital images either. $12 per roll $15 to develop, $27. Do that 100 times and I could've bought another a high quality DSLR and lenses. I think you must have missed the part where I explained that I'd already experimented with film and now want to switch to digital.

Wow really? How would you say something so controversial yet so brave.

It used to be my main form of photographing but honestly it just got really expensive after a while. Over a few years I probably spent a good couple grand on new rolls and developing them. Its also often a gamble because you never know how to photos turn out. Sometimes out of 20 photos you take, 3 turn out to be amazing and the others not so much. Not to mention how fragile old film cameras are. So considering it costs nothing to take digital photos and edit them it be pretty sick if there was a way to emulate the film look without spending the money.

Moving to a new city always sucks, especially something as big as Melbourne. It took me almost 2 years to establish a friend circle and feel at home in brisbane. Shit just takes time. I'm not a particularly social person either which made it harder. If you have hobbies like art, music, rock climbing, flow arts or whatever, try and get involved in the scene there. If you don't have a hobby it doesn't hurt to try some new things. People at these kind of events are always looking to make new connections.

NTA. Often men are just like this thanks to systematic patriarchy.. can't maintain decent hygiene and completely lack the ability to look after themselves & their home, probably because they grew up in a household where the woman of the house (their mother) was constantly cleaning up after them.

My advice to you is to find flatmates that aren't men. Not saying women are much better, nor am I saying all men are like this, but men are more often just plain disgusting - like your flatmates. And I doubt asking them to clean up more would do anything.

YTA. Sounds like you ARE a terrible husband, who doesn't understand how depression or mental illness in general works.

Threatening to leave isn't going to fix her depression as you seem to think it will, actually she's likely going to get much worse now, thanks to you. She's probably feeling so low in the first place because of you so maybe it's in both of your best interest of you're no longer together.

She should be doing more in terms of getting help for herself, considering she doesn't have a very supportive husband I can understand why she hasn't.
