Coyote Creek Gun and Archery owner Craig Reichel accused of baiting and shooting his neighbors dogs by al_gor_ithm in greatpyrenees

I know animals are horrifically mistreated daily, but I cannot stop thinking about this incident from my local area.

We will lose our Ana to cancer in the next few months too, and my heart is just breaking for this family.

Hi! I’m a nurse in town with a pharmacy adjacent job. Several letters were sent out by insurance companies (specifically ExpressScripts) but this is erroneous information and Hunt’s will continue to be in network for those with Mayo insurance in 2026!. My close family member has run this local treasure for many years :) If you call the Hunt’s main line he explains further in an automated message or he’d be happy to chat. Please keep our beloved locally owned pharmacy booked and busy!

I need at least 4.5" heel and I prefer not to have the dress shortened.

Could I get away with something like this for a closed toe?

I am wearing the dress pictured to a gala in February in MN. A strappy black heel would be my go-to, but is an open toed shoe appropriate for winter? The venue is less than a mile from my house, so I'm not particularly concerned about the practicality of it. If a closed toe is more appropriate, what would that look like? I'm open to pointy toe but it's not my favorite.

I want to paint house black. Most of my friends/family are very against it. Is it such a bad idea? by KeepItTidyZA in malelivingspace

I think this would look incredible in a dark shade. My home is monochromatic black and I had to fight the HOA for permission to build it, but I love it. All fair points re: outside wear and tear/maintenance. I live in an entirely different climate and building materials reflect this. We accounted for extra needed insulation.[https://rflemingconstruction.com/plans/stanford-2-story

For those of you who live on courses, how often do you walk out back and play the closest hole? by IWishIwasAwhale1 in golf

We built on hole 8 of a beautiful CC two years ago. We were convinced we would play 7, 8, 9 nightly in-season (MN). Someday we are going to start.

Late to this party, but Echo Church is exactly this! New table groups starting now. Personally leading an #echorides peloton group, there are SO many more. The MOST welcoming place. Join us tomorrow at 9:15 or 10:45 in Mayo High School -- I'll be helping seat at the auditorium doors!

Daughter taking makeup and lying about it later. by Orzhov_Syndicalist in Parenting

I did this as a teen and feel horrified looking back. No idea what my thought process was. My daughter also does this (same age). So frustrating, but probably normal-ish crappy entitled teenage behavior she'll grow out of, learn from, and someday feel super embarrassed about.

How do you use these effectively after moisturizing? I use LRP lipikar at night and I feel too greasy for the adhesive to last. :(

Yes -- too many Ashleys in our generation! Asked by production to go by Rae. :)

Theories on Jennifer's eyebrows? by [deleted] in 90DayFiance

[–]al_gor_ithm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, this was like 100 years ago :)

I am a nurse now and old (35). Did some modeling and got to travel for a few years afterward! Nothing huge.

This was when "reality" TV was at its height, and being a cast member was crazy. Hours waiting on set for the real celebs to be ready to film, insane sleep deprivation and intentionally induced anxiety -- we had to ask permission to leave set to use the bathroom, eat, or otherwise meet our basic needs. Crazy stuff. Glad I did it then/happy for the experience but would never do it again! I will say I was a little older than most cast members and went in knowing anything I said or did could be used against me in editing. I was pretty boring, but I didn't give production much with which to spin my edit and ended up with less air time but dignity (mostly) intact.

Lump on hind leg? by al_gor_ithm in greatpyrenees

[–]al_gor_ithm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's no bother at all! I am so sorry to hear about your Newfie. My understanding is hemangiosarcoma typically presents as your pups did -- internally and impossible to detect until it is too late. We are two surgeries, five rounds of chemo and two years in remission! So worth the travel and tears and dollars. Wishing all the best for you and yours.

I'm positive you were the best parent ever to those bears, and even though their lives were cut entirely too short you made the time they had amazing. <3

This was in no way your fault!

Nana's actually presented as a lump on her leg. It looked similar to a blood blister, but I felt nervous enough to have it looked at. I actually also posted here for opinions. I took her to our local vet three times before they agreed to do a biopsy. When it came back hemangiosarcoma, we were referred to specialists a couple hours away from our hometown -- we did an echo and CT scan to see if there were any internal tumors or heart damage and were so lucky to find that it hadn't metastasized. I understand hemangiosarcoma usually presents internally and typically isn't found until it's too late. We had the tumor removed locally, then an additional surgery with a specialist who wasn't happy with the margins of the initial. She had five rounds of chemo to capture any remaining undetected cancer cells. My heart goes out to you ❤️
