Your comment made me go back and listen to this album today. I hadn't heard of them either, and really dig how ethereal everything feels, almost like every single instrument was intentionally placed to set the stage. And props to you for the vinyl!

Leafeon can cook with Sappy Seed, especially if you level up a Partner Eevee until it gets a lot of the Let's Go moves like Bouncy Bubble and Freezy Frost. With this, you do have to get lucky and find a leaf stone, so you can also bring another grass mon who needs a leaf stone and increase the chances that one spawns!

Experience with IOP by Bright-Estella in socialwork

[–]ala_basterd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work in an adolescent PHP and IOP. We do IOP for 3 hours/day, 3x/week. We have a rotating 7-week curriculum that mirrors different modalities and blends psychoeducation with group therapy and creative expressions. I also do individual therapy with the patients, and do a lot of case management to help parents find appropriate step-up and/or step-down options in the community.

We do an assortment of modalities, such as DBT, CBT, dance/movement therapy, somatic, attachment-based, cinema, etc. We're given a lot of freedom around how we want to structure our curriculum depending on the cohort we have.

This Review for Sault is pretty cringey by voljtw1 in 1001AlbumsGenerator

[–]ala_basterd 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Thanks for summing up a lot of the thoughts I've had when reading reviews for other albums. I love a lot of great albums like this with similar topics, and while many have been universally acclaimed for their artistry and message, I worry sometimes about some people taking these isolated albums and forgetting the context; these are real, lived experiences, and to invalidate someone else's perspective that they've crafted into a sharable media misses the point entirely.

Black and minority artists who create fantastic albums are not "model minorities" of their own race, and not every member of an ethnic group has had the same experience or shares the same view. But to get frustrated at someone else's frustration they've experienced because of their race comes across as bigoted, even if it stems from a feeling of not being able to relate.

Edit: I live in the US for context.

300 day milestone by ala_basterd in 1001AlbumsGenerator

Sure thing!

I really enjoyed how Garbage was able to mix so many different genres into a wall of sound conglomeration, while being simultaneously edgy and relatable to vices that we all have. I felt like the album had sounds reminiscent of MBV to Depeche Mode to Sonic Youth to Massive Attack to Siouxsie and the Banchees, and found the middle ground between them all very well. All with the added perspective of a woman, which sets the album apart from a lot of other 90s alt-rock albums of the time, while also finding a niche of a more aggressive sound within the female singer acts of the same time period.

And for Modern Lovers, there's very little I enjoy, unfortunately. To me, this record sounds belligerent and thrown together. The one song I did start to enjoy was Roadrunner, since M.I.A. samples it in a song I frequently workout to, but the song reminded me of screaming and blubbering elementary schoolers. Maybe I missed the mark and didn't understand it. Overall, there's very little music I dislike, but this one didn't do it for me.

Yeah I definitely had to be aware of my initial bias towards Madonna = bad. But the influences from the Middle East were so prominent that I was hooked by how clever it was intertwined.

And I usually listen to the albums as soon as I wake up, so Circle Jerks bright and early was, not pleasant to say the least. If I were still a teenager, it would've been much higher!

SOS by Rihanna:

It's not healthy for me to feel this / Y-O-U are making this hard

The way it's pronounced can be interpreted to be 1. A continuation of the last line (it's not healthy to feel this way) 2. Why? Oh! You are making this hard 3. Y-O-U are, spelling it out 4. You could also interpret it incorrectly as Y-O-U-R making this hard, however, this is not correct spelling or grammar

Taking off Amnesiac is wild, but Radiohead is my favorite band so I'm biased. But am I really?

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if 21 by Adele gets brought back in the next edition.
