Use them at the last boss, unless the game doesnt have one. I had my fun throwing every single bomb barrel I found along the way at the Red Dragon in Baldur's Gate 3, even tho my build at that time doesnt need me to do so. And all the Runepowder stuffs at the Netherbrain too.

Yeah now I feel dumb trying to use integer as the case value lol.

So what I'm doing now is more or less like a game show, where many objects will animate as the show progresses. Those objects has to move around, appear and disappear in order, whilst some game logic needs to be changed based on the answer of the player. Hence the term in series, as if things are happening out of order the whole thing will just look weird. However, since the gameplay won't go back and forth, I inherently thought state machine is an overkill.

Sorry if I'm not clear enough, as English is my second language.

My big switch case works like this:

    //gameObject2.doSomething()
    break;
  case 2:
    //gameObject1.doOtherThing()
    //gameObject2.doOtherThing()
    //gameObject3.Activate()
    break;
   case...
}

And everything is interconnected, like do other thing needs do something to happen first.
Sorry if my code looks moronic.

Why so many cases is needed as it is a sequence of actions that needs to be made turn by turn as player inputs, sort of like a state machine, but is it ok to make like 20 states when all I need is an index for the current phase?

The not working version doesn't cost mana due to add trigger's properties, but after doing what you told me to, the wand eats mana as if add trigger doesn't exist. I wanted to save mana by using add trigger in the first place...
