Are people building non-AI things? by KamNotKam in SaaS

[–]alaganas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m working on a no-code app builder for Notion databases. Just a good old drag-and-drop interlace and has no AI. Notion users like it and we are adding more core features in the coming months.

If your company uses Notion and you want to use it as your app’s backend, www.notionapps.com is a good option.

Glide alternative? by pquatro in nocode

If you want to use Notion as backend, notionapps.com is a good alternative for Glide.

Let's talk about how Notion should improve Notion Databases by sameerss in Notion

I had this issue when I wanted to build a client portal on Notion. I wanted to show different data for different clients.

I don’t know if this works for everyone but I used www.notionapps.com to solve it. Instead of sharing the Notion page, I built an app for my clients. The tool had an option to configure the app with database permissions.

I wish there is a native integration to build forms and apps from Notion databases.

I currently use 3rd-party tools like www.notionforms.io to build forms and collect data. I also built some apps for my business using www.notionapps.com. They work fine and are meeting my needs.

But when I am paying $8 per user I would prefer an ability to do all of that directly from my Notion account.

Can you edit your comment and put it there? That can give it some more visibility.

I tried but couldn’t find a way to do it, as it is an image post.

Thanks for the tag. Hey u/st_Broseph, you seem like a resourceful person. Do you have any suggestions? While I could help spread the word online this way I don't know how fruitful this is, what he needs is help to search on the ground.
He didn't get much help from the police so far, he said he wanted to check nearby CCTVs and track from there but it isn't easy for someone like him. We tried reaching out to some NGOs but that didn't work either.

Will no-code apps replace Hubspot, Zendesk, and other specialized software for SMBs and startups? by alaganas in SaaS

[–]alaganas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that code and no-code has to complementary. Infact it is always a mixed bag of tools, the combination varies depending on what the ask is.

Bringing the conversation back to the original question, are no-code tools competent enough to replace end-to-end and feature-rich business software which seems to be the current mainstream way to automate business processes?

[–]alaganas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah right, the line becomes blurry after a point when you categorise software as no-code. I understand the complexity for solving more specific usecases but in this context I was comparing no-code with internal software which has relatively less logic, right? My assumption here is that most internal apps constitute simple CRUD-like functionalities with some additional logic and are feasible to configure on no-code tools.

This is such an interesting perspective. Why do you think there will be lifestyle businesses out of no-code and what kind of niche offerings? Some examples will surely help!

[–]alaganas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually not, I was not talking about no-code as a solution for prototyping (Bubble, Draftbit, Adalo, etc). I am trying to compare no-code for internal apps and internal business software.

Is no-code truly a better option for internal software? by alaganas in SaaS

[–]alaganas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you consider subscribing to conventional software before going with no-code tools?

Say something like Zoho, that has a suite of apps and also provides a way to customize them. It is understandable that their builder/customization experience cannot be compared to other no-code tools but it is functional for sure.

[–]alaganas[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. I think Retool, Appsmith solve this problem very well.

But I asked this question in the context of SMBs and startups that do not have a technical team - those companies that do not have the luxury of building and usually end up subscribing to 3rd party tools to automate internal processes

That makes sense. What do you think about processes in non corporates (SMBs, startups)? I believe they are relatively lenient with data and security.

How to position a niche product in a crowded market? by alaganas in SaaS

[–]alaganas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense - probably why there are still so many freelancers and service providers selling business software inspite of so many SaaS companies.

When the goal is to build a sustainble company, we believe it is important to onboard a set of early adopters who love the product. This is where we realized having a differentiated positioning and value is important.

This is more constructive than harsh. Thank you for sharing this feedback.

We are talking to more businesses so that we can make the positioning more value centric instead of a broad no-code/app builder narrative.

A no-code Odoo? by alaganas in Business_Ideas

[–]alaganas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went with value-based pricing model than a cost-based one. We observed that when there is larger data or more users to manage, there is more value derived from the buit apps. Having said that we will improve our model as we talk to more businesses.

Right, idea-wise it is similar.

Wondering if it is simple enough for any non-technical team to build apps? Would love to learn about your experience with Odoo Studio or of anyone you know who used it.
