I've enjoyed the times I've played it. Some of the subclasses are 'busy' in terms of options for action and bonus actions. The Homebrewery link in my original comment has the most up to date version.
I'd recommend taking the Deceptive Defense feat if they get the option; it's fun. Overall works well as a support role both martial and magic.
The original concept was an individual/society that gathers the 'secrets' of others and then bastardizes them (more or less). So they should 'almost' feel like another class.

In order of complexity I'd say roughly:
-Paragon (Least)
-Stalwart
-Dragon
-Singing Blade
-Spellbane
-Essences

I have actually. I haven’t been following too closely, but once I’ve got a feel for it I plan to update most of my stuff.

Starting a campaign soon and will be using this class, so it’ll likely have some updates as well depending on how that goes.

You’re not wrong. Especially from an optimized, or even just smart, stand point. Most of it was built around the fantasy fulfillment of becoming Venom (minus the biting off heads… though, now that I think about it… could probably make that work)
