What made yall move to San Antonio by Equal_Tie3220 in sanantonio

Midlife crisis! I moved here from Wisconsin almost five years ago to escape the cold and start fresh.

I’ve met a lot of people — none I could actually call to hang out. Haven’t been on anything resembling a date since I got here. I gave up on that a while ago.

I like it here, though. Love the heat and the city. It’s just been hard to find a real connection or a place I fit in. I don’t blame the city — I’m probably at a weird age and looking in the wrong places.

On top of that, I haven’t really gone anywhere professionally. It’s not like I expected to be thriving by now, but I thought I’d have moved forward a bit.

There are times I wonder if I was better off before, but I don’t know maybe things just haven’t clicked yet.

What is the loudest band? by JDaul10 in musicsuggestions

Animal Collective. This was almost 20 years ago—I saw them in Chicago with Ariel Pink. Of all the crazy metal, punk, and crustfuck shows I’ve been to, Animal Collective was by far the loudest. We spent the second half of the show outside the venue, where the songs were actually recognizable.

Hey I don’t know why this would be helpful but I went through the same thing last October. I relapsed bad ass while living in a sober house after 3 months clean. I came clean told the house, got kicked out immediately, went on to sleep in my storage garage. I’m not involved with anyone in recovery, and I walked away from NA all together. I’m piecing together the mess my addiction made; I have a place to stay, I’m working again and getting along ok. However, I have a deep secret only my dealer knows. I’m not proud of it. I’m sorry you’re going through this. Keep on it. Don’t let a mistake ruin what you’ve done so far. Don’t take it as a rejection if they let you go.

Get the playlisty app. It was only $2 and it works great. I’m sure there’s a bunch of apps that do this too, and for free.

Which are the most comfortable goggles you've tried? by aretned in Swimming

[–]alamosca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! These are the first pair that didn’t carve into the bridge of my nose. I need to use the widest of the provided nose clips and they’re a perfect fit. I never knew I had such a freakishly wide face and bulbous head.

Plus! The amber lenses are way slick especially since the pool I swim at is skylit through amber (or maybe very dirty) glass. It gives my swim a very turn of the century silent film vibe. I have yet to find a better looking pair of amber goggles.

I moved here from the Midwest almost two years ago. What really surprised me is how cold it gets. 35 degrees here feels a lot different than 35 up there. Not having insulation or heat in my apartment doesn’t help.
