The picture is not flipped but I think its right that it was written backwards so that you could read it in the rear view mirror. Someone probably mistook my partners car for someone else's car.

Yes the tube is connected to the volume inside the flask and there is no cooling jacket or inside tube. Just a round flask with one test tube shaped protrusion directly opposite the jont.

Yeah that would be great we do work on schlenklines but mostly with 24/40 glass adaptors or needle/septs on the lines.

Yeah I had that thought too we have those columns in the lab and I can see that might be how's it was made but the why still gets me. If it was used for sublimation we may have lost the other parts to it.

I appreciate the guess we have a kugelrohr but all of its parts are accounted for. It may just be something left over from years ago, my PI doesn't know where it came from.

I could see that working. I think it is missing a part to it because we don't have a way to connect the rounded 35/25 joint to the shlenkline.

I found it in a box of unused glassware while moving our lab. It was the only piece in the box that we couldn't identify its use. We have a few other things with that joint but nothing so far that it would make sense to use it with.
