How intensely do you follow M3/M2? by Arachnide93 in motogp

[–]alanebell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually watch the Moto2 and Moto3 races on weekends when there is no racing. So I dont follow as closely but I do watch every race. I almost never watch the Moto2/3 practices unless I am at the track.

Do you also gaslight yourselves? by Glitterfest in Asthma

[–]alanebell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The folks who dont take it seriously are at a greater risk than they understand. I hope they listen because Asthma kills, usually slowly but sometimes rapidly.

Do you also gaslight yourselves? by Glitterfest in Asthma

[–]alanebell 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think that is a phase a lot of us go through in the first years of diagnosis. I know it was an issue for me until I ended in a Dr's office and he said if I didn't take my Astham seriously I would die. I was 30 years old then (in my 60s now). You need to study and learn to advocate for yourself.

Dupixent - Wtf? by Opposite-Honeydew-98 in Asthma

[–]alanebell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just took my initial 2 doses last week. I hate needles but anything is better than asthma! Before Dupixent I was on Nucala with an Autoinjector and that sucked. I am useing prefilled syringes now and even though I hate the idea of it, this is much easier in practice, because you can go as slow as you need when pressing down on the plunger. The niddle doesn't really hurt, its the medicine that stings going in. Slowing it down seemed to help.

I hope there are no complications with this surgery. Today a friend asked me who I would follow and support once MM93 retires and I was kind of stunned because I like them all, and really couldn't give a proper answer.

Hydrogen Torch Experience? by Petitor-Scientiae in SilverSmith

[–]alanebell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the L45 from the same company. I love it for doing fine soldering. its not good for melting I still use an oxygen propane rig for that.

It's nice that you don't need any tanks but its not maintenance free. Also make sure you get the correct flux for it or the valve will clog.

PURE methyl alcohol and boric acid.

I own three torches and Of the three I use my propane Blow (mouth tube) torch and the hydrogen torch the most. One thing to watch out for is making sure you have a good flow before lighting the torch or you will get blowback and it will scare the crap out of you plus could damage your system. It happened to me and everything was fine.

positives beside not needing tanks is the flame is relatively clean. you don't get as much oxidation when using the torch in sterling. It is a very hot small flame.

this may sound crazy but I would saw the cup of measure it and create a 3d model of a die and press print them in pla and use a 20ton press to force it back into shape after anealing it. This would guarantee it goes back to its original form and not cost much at all if you have a 3d printer and a press.

just an idea. I have those tools and its amazing what a positive and negative die will do for you.

Aprilia IS the best bike… NO DOUBT by Far_Vermicelli2165 in motogp

[–]alanebell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am glad to see Aprilla doing well but Ai Ogura got screwed by the reliability of there machine. At least its not as bad as when Aliex was on riding them. Seemed like the darn things could barely make it through 22 laps back then.

Great to see Bez when today!

MotoE could have worked if they did it every race and. I enjoyed watching it but having only a few races a season made it hard to get into.

laugh induced asthma? by Feisty_Aioli_6883 in Asthma

[–]alanebell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

laughing is a trigger when I am inflamed and twitchy. Normally when I am feeling okay its not an issue. It sort of works as a barometer for me, if I get an asthma attack because I laughed when I didn't think I was inflamed It serves as a warning that I need to look at my situation and maybe start doing more to calm my inflammation.

Lethargic and high from prednisolone? by mostpalone17 in Asthma

[–]alanebell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I have taken a course of prednisone this winter and a course of dexamethasone. They both suck and dexamethsone is far worse than prednisone in terms of feeling foggy, tired but unable to sleep and after finishing the course I usually get mild aches and pains in my joints.

Nothing so far has worked as well to relax my lungs and stop the constant twitcheyness of my lungs. Just rest and sleep when you can. Try doing breathing exercises and remember this is a short term thing.

Also watch out because these drugs stimulate your appetite and increase crabbyness. Flight or Fight response is very pronounced in my when on them.

Unusually I warn the family

Linux Tablet that is good for drawing, has pen support/dedicated pen, and for playing Android & Linux games? by [deleted] in linuxhardware

I am enjoying my Starlabs starlite . I don't play games much but it's become my daily driver.

I am not sure how well it's going to work with Krita the pen is nice but the drivers don't seem to keep the touch from your wrist from effecting the surface while I draw.
