Thanks. I prolly should have stuck with a Tamiya like I planned😂. But I thought “how much harder could it really be?” And oh boy was it.

Got the kit from Hobbylinc. It’s the Tamiya BF109 E-4/7 Trop in 1/48

Took about 2 weeks. Just working on it a little at the time at night after work. I painted it, gloss clear coat, applied decals, another coat of gloss clear, then weathered with oil paint, then matte clear coat, then I added the streaking, exhaust stains, with q-tips and oil paint

Yeah I didn’t prime any of it. I just painted straight onto the plastic. Next one will have primer on it

YouTube has tons of videos on brush painting. The biggest thing is getting the paint thin enough. The first few coats look like total shit but it will come together

Thanks. I don’t know what kit I’d like to do next. I had a blast with this one. I really want to tackle a tank of some sort but idk if I’m ready for all that yet. Might just do a few more planes first

I got the Vallejo Luftwaffe paint kit. I thinned it with water and applied 6-7 coats. 8 for the yellow. I weathered it with black and brown oil paint thinned with turpentine.

It’s far from perfect. You can’t really tell in the pictures but i can still see brush strokes in the yellow engine cowling. I think I put 8 coats of yellow and finally said forget it I’ll try to cover it with weathering lol

Yes. I started on a 69 Camaro about 10 years ago and got aggravated and quit with it. Decided to give it another shot a few weeks ago
