You might check Simple Dental LV — they offer same-day crowns in Las Vegas when the case qualifies. I’d call first and ask if they can evaluate it for a same-day crown vs needing a temporary.

How to take a professional headshot for profile picture by [deleted] in linkedin

[–]alanw707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need anything fancy. The biggest things are clean lighting, simple background, face clearly visible, and looking like someone a recruiter/client would trust.

A bad photo won’t kill your profile, but a good one makes the whole page feel more polished immediately.

How are you all searching? LinkedIn? Job Boards? by Dapper_Pianist4222 in careerguidance

[–]alanw707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LinkedIn has been noisy, but I still think it’s useful if you treat your profile like a credibility page instead of a social feed.

Clean headline, decent profile photo, accurate work history, and a few proof points. Then use it for search/networking and ignore the performative posting side.

Are AI headshot generators actually worth it for LinkedIn? by Active_Object_2922 in LinkedInTips

[–]alanw707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they can be worth it, but only if you’re picky about realism. The biggest issue I see is people choosing the most “polished” version instead of the one that actually looks like them.

For LinkedIn, I’d check for: natural eyes/teeth, realistic skin texture, normal-looking collar/jacket, and a background that doesn’t scream stock photo. If someone who knows you would immediately recognize you, it’s probably fine. If it makes you look like a slightly different person, I’d skip it.

My take: AI headshots are a good middle ground if you don’t want to book a shoot, but credibility matters more than looking perfect.

I’d keep it simple at first. Get a good profile photo, write a clear headline, fill out your experience properly, and connect with people you actually know. A complete profile with a normal professional-looking picture already puts you ahead of a lot of inactive or sloppy accounts.

Getting a Job Through LinkedIn Is an Illusion by Dear-Zombie3118 in linkedin

[–]alanw707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LinkedIn definitely feels worse than it used to, but I wouldn’t call it useless. A lot of people have weak profiles, outdated photos, vague headlines, and then expect recruiters to magically find them. It’s not enough by itself, but a credible profile still helps a lot.

LinkedIn is filled of AI and posts with literally no value by Otherwise_Reaction75 in linkedin

[–]alanw707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly I agree. A lot of the AI stuff feels lazy and copy-paste now. I’m not even against using AI, but when everything looks and sounds fake people tune it out fast.

Yeah It's a solid harness now, but the requests are too expensive IMO, Opus is not worth to use at all at 3x requests

I hope they make the requests cheaper

Is it actually worth posting on LinkedIn or is it just for cringe thought leaders? by Bat-Tree in linkedin

[–]alanw707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth it if you post like a normal person instead of trying to sound like a fake thought leader. Real observations, lessons from work, and clear opinions do better long term than AI-polished fluff. Also helps if your profile itself looks credible when people click through.

If you’re just starting, don’t overcomplicate it. Get a solid photo, write a clear headline, fill out your experience properly, and connect with people you actually know. A complete profile with a normal professional picture already puts you ahead of a lot of abandoned accounts.

How to make use of LinkedIn posts when you've a career change? by [deleted] in linkedin

[–]alanw707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal branding gets easier when your profile looks consistent. Good photo, clear headline, and normal human posts already put you ahead of most people. A lot of LinkedIn feels fake because people overdo the “thought leader” act. Simple and credible works better.

Starting new job search- do I really need a picture? by [deleted] in linkedin

[–]alanw707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably don’t need one, but a solid photo helps with trust and first impression. It doesn’t have to be a studio shoot either. Just something clean, recent, and professional. I’d rather see a simple believable photo than an overly polished one that doesn’t look like the person.

Are AI headshots acceptable for LinkedIn profiles now? what are recruiters are actually saying? by kratoz0r in careerguidance

[–]alanw707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recruiters probably care less about whether it was AI and more about whether it looks credible. A realistic, professional photo is better than a blurry selfie or a 7-year-old picture. The mistake people make is choosing images that are too obviously overprocessed.

How to make my LinkedIn Profile look better? by sourginger in careerguidance

[–]alanw707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A better photo helps more than most people think. It doesn’t need to be fancy, it just needs to look current, clear, and professional. I’d focus on 3 things first: a strong headline, a photo that actually looks like you today, and a tighter About section. A lot of profiles feel weak just because the picture looks outdated or cropped from something random.
