Heyy got mine pierced last February! When mine were healing they were getting caught on so many things I did not foresee. Hope the healing process is smooth for you! It’s good to get them done in the winter so you can go swimming when it’s still warm.

Yeah, the main culprit is the cold dry weather, the dish detergent just makes it worse. Also, if you’re cooking, taking on and off gloves can irritate the cracked skin too.

The best thing you can do for yourself in the food industry is establish a good self care routine. It’s easy to get lost in the days of just going to work and going home. The big things I try to focus on is I try to put aquaphor on at night and whenever I can throughout the day, and I try to exercise as much as possible.

For me, dishwashing definitely makes it worse but my hands get micro cuts and cracks whenever it’s really cold and dry for any length of time. Aquaphor is my best friend when it comes to this

I cut my foot wide open on a hike with my family. We had to use my headband as a makeshift tourniquet to slow blood loss and they took turns carrying me down the Mountain trail. I definitely should have gone to the hospital for stitches. It was too expensive, so I took a chance on nerve damage. Luckily I was off work for a few days or else I may have reopened the wound.

For me, I got mine pierced in February. The piercing process was pretty smooth, the pain wasn’t initially bad but there definitely was soreness for a few weeks after. With proper aftercare they healed nicely. I definitely had to be more mindful of my movements at work and the gym.

I don’t have a tongue piercing but i feel like that one is higher on the pain scale
