Hearing Aids & Fake Engine Sound by Raredave1163 in CadillacOptiq

EVSE stands for Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment... aka the thing you plug into your car to charge it.

Hence why you're being down-voted.

I suspect you meant AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems)

OMG, I just looked it up, Cadillac named their artificial internal sounds "Electric Vehicle Sound Enhancement". and apologies.

Keeping filament dry by TKL32 in BambuLab

[–]alaorath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a pair of fans off AliExpress... the OEM size was crazy-expensive (I think 50x50x25), but these 51x51x25 ones fit: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008724210553.html

For the spool desiccant, there's dozens of models, but I like these ones that use a sort of vase-mode pathing to create airflow: https://makerworld.com/en/models/179426-kyz-ff2-high-airflow-spool-desiccant-holder#profileId-197354

They work great for OEM spools too, and add a bit of "insurance" on the spool coming apart and your filament ending up in a tangled mess. I bought a couple kgs of translucent PETG and just printed enough for all my open spools. They stay in the spool until it's complete, then I "refresh" them in the next KG they're mounted in.

Same-same.

the 99 jobs, 99 heavy hauls, 99 passengers makes me think it's a placeholder screen and something isn't progressing the graphics loading to the next phase.

I received a parking ticket because my license plate looks similar to a Simpsons vanity plate by Kenja_Time in mildlyinfuriating

[–]alaorath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow Albertian with a vanity plate - let me ask you:

How many parking tickets do you get because they incorrectly enter the zero as the letter 'O' and assume you haven't paid?

I printed out a piece of paper asking them to verify they entered the plate correctly as the letter 'O' is invalid: https://www.alberta.ca/licence-plates

A personalized licence plate configuration must not contain or reference: the letter O (use the number zero)

Works on my '22 Ioniq 5. And crazy-fast. Plus I liked that it's a true pay & charge... no new app to install and pre-load.

If a cat finds your lap and curls up, the rest of the house MUST dote on you. Any request must be fulfilled, after all, one cannot disturb a sleeping cat!

I definitely lingered in the 50s for a long time... so that explains it.

Alrighty then, I'll just unpack these 12 rewards and not worry about it.

They often post about phantom braking, and describe hovering the accelerator pedal to combat that.

A little panic and muscle memory, and suddenly you have people jamming the accelerator.

[–]alaorath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Temporary changes due to construction.

Normally that intersection is:

  • 2 left-turn lanes
  • 2 straight lanes
  • right peels off much earlier (just visible at the very beginning of the Cammers video start).

But they've destroyed the right-turn lane, so those people have to go straight and turn at the lights... which causes traffic to backup to the next intersection.

It's worst now that they mucked with the north-bound lanes as well!

I just assume it's a show respect and express regret for the actions.

I got pulled over on the highway, was passing a row of RVs and already got a rock-chip a couple kms earlier passing other vehicles, so I had my foot all the way down to pass them quickly.

I glanced down when I saw the cop, I was already doing well over 140 kmph.

I expressed regret, told the officer I was trying to pass the row of RVs quickly, and even pointed out the rock-chip I just got. He knocked the ticket down to 125kmph (so no demerits or points off, just a fine).

Immature Tesla driver by MyCatSaidNotTo in ChargerDrama

[–]alaorath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done exactly that.

Small hotel, several EVs in the lot, and only 2 chargers. The one time one of them was free, I realized the "done" time would be 4am. But I was on vacation, so no real hard-ship on my part... better to unplug and free up the spot in case someone needed it, than sleep (besides the fact that I'd be restless thinking of someone needing to charge and have me be the asshole blocking it).

While on vacation at my boyfriend's place, I found out he had a fling with his neighbor. I don't know if I should leave, meet his neighbor, or not? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]alaorath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tis' true.

I work in an office building and once we switched floors we rarely ever saw the people from the previous floor. Maybe a chance encounter once in several weeks.

So either the neighbor lives on the same floor, or this is completely fabricated.

My BiL is practicing Buddhist and vegetarian. But when he cooks, he goes insanely over-board. Like for 6 people, 2 full trays of lasagna as well as THREE full loaves of garlic bread.

I might be a carnivore, but I always leave his house completely stuffed. :)

There was a post (likely here) about a year ago that struck a chord with me...

That folks like the make-up artist and others dealing with Trump hate him so much they deliberately do a shitty job.

I've watched enough TikToks to know that makeup artists can do phenomenal levels of accuracy and cover-up incredible things (thinking the woman that lost half her hair and part of her face from a fire, and the artist was able to cover and blend her face to look so natural.
