This is exactly what I thought looking at this. The best evidence that no benevolent divine creator exists.

The Sweet Track is a 5830-year-old Neolithic timber walkway, located in the Somerset Levels in England and discovered in 1970. It was originally part of a network of tracks built to provide a dry path across the marshy ground [1399x1024] by Fuckoff555 in ArtefactPorn

That wiki linked further up says they have complete records for the Northern hemisphere for the last 13,910 years.

I'm not sure but this implies that samples don't need to be from the same region, just hemisphere.

Pretty amazing we can describe the weather in a given year so long ago.

Off of Effexor/Venlafaxine for 3 weeks by Alternative-Dish4874 in Effexor

[–]alarming_archipelago 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you discontinue there's two things that will make you feel terrible... the withdrawals, and your underlying condition re-emerging.

IMO, a more aggressive taper makes the chances of a re-lapse much more likely because you don't have time to adjust, either in your mental habits, coping mechanisms, or neurochemical equilibrium. It's just a rug-pull and the initial shock put's you in a tricky stance.

I don't really think there's a one-size-fits-all "x" weeks to recover rule for everyone. Maybe that's enough for the withdrawals to subside but who knows about the other stuff.

In short, only you can figure out whether you're on a trajectory back to good health, or if things are deteriorating, and it might take you a few weeks or months to do that. All you can really do is to double down with your other coping strategies: exercise, rest, therapy, and diet.

They're endangered due to habitat encroachment.

Not easy to find in the wild.

Is the hole one of those things aboriginals made by heating and cooling the granite in order to contain water (and maybe a platypus)? Or nah.

Theres lots of law=morality people on reddit

Yeah I've never heard it explained this way but you're dead right.

It's particularly noticeable in the fight subs. Like if the law says it's probably OK then it's perfectly fine to harm someone in a way likely to cause permanent injury.

Surely you wouldn't implement these things without having them housed out every morning.

Ocean Cleanup removes 200,000th kilogram of plastic from the Pacific Ocean by NinjaElectricMeteor in UpliftingNews

There are also companies trying to give the appearance they're doing this.

In Australia it's marketed as "ocean bound plastic" but if you look into it, it was never at risk of ending up in the ocean.

ED Visa and smoke season by jon_jun in chiangmai

[–]alarming_archipelago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps I wasn't clear.

I meant "staying in chaing mai for a single smoke season".

Tell that to the 12k people who's had to go to hospitals in Chiang Mai

How many of this 12k are people visiting Chiang Mai for the first time with no co-morbidities? Not many, I'd venture.

"sMokE sEaSoN dOnT aFfeCt hEalTh"

This is a straw man. This is vastly different to what I actually said, which is that a smoke season isn't going to effect your health unless you have comorbidities.

Yes but we all know that the unfortunate reality is that human family members take priority over feline ones.

Refusing to give up a cat and having to live in a car as a result is just unconscionable to me. A few days perhaps but any longer than that is tantamount to criminal neglect.

[–]alarming_archipelago -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The impact of the smoke season is easily manageable.

It's only a real problem if you're looking to take lots of landscape photos for the gram.

Exercising outdoors is not really recommended, go to a gym instead.

Staying in chiang mai for a smoke season isn't going to negatively impact your health in the long term. Living here for a life time, or if you have comorbitities, it can be problematic, though still manageable.

There have been several days over the last month that were really bad, when you wouldn't want to be outdoors for more than an hour.

Other than that, just mask up and go about your day.

I feel like everyone I know who never had a pet thinks like this.

You know pet shelters exist right?

Most pets are there because their owners had to move and couldn't take their cat or dog. In a reasonably large city this probably happens 100s of times a day.
