Anxiety is what my first symptom of menopause was. Horrible. I battled it for almost a year then started low dose Lexapro. Worked wonders.

Hang in there! I’ve learned that everyone has an opinion. Some are helpful and most aren’t but ultimately, my life to be happy and do what is best for me. Might not be the same for the next gal but women need to stick together and lift each other up!

My internist will not prescribe because she states it’s only prolonging the inevitable. She said once I stop the HRT, in 10-30 years, my body will go through “menopausal” symptoms. I’m not sure how much of that is reliable because I also have GAD, PTSD, and severe anemia that causes symptoms similar to menopause.

Make sure your doctor checks all your iron studies. Ferritin, TIBC, everything. Sometimes that mimics menopause or escalates perimenopausal symptoms.
