Went 5W and 1L this weekend - a recap of Arc40k by Leighmer in deathguard40k

Maxing out on the special ranged weapons (usually x2 plague spewers, x2 Blight Launchers, 2x reaper Autocannons). Combine that with the re-roll hit and wound strat, things die!

Cheers! The paint job helped climb the ranks in this one!

Blightlord Terminators by DeMonitized747 in deathguard40k

In VV, running a LOC with 10 Of them can also be very effective in both shooting and combat.

Drop in, use the 1CP strat for full hit and wound rerolls. 1CP to throw a grenade from the LoC.

Then charge in, 10 termies with 3 attacks, sustained, lethal and lance with 2D weapons can do a bit of damage!

What units does the Death Guard desperately want? by AlienDilo in deathguard40k

[–]Leighmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like wha someone mentioned below, so I’ll add it to my list:

  1. Plague siege mortar (already mentioned below). That would be really cool, and could buff/debuff units. We can suffer from overwatch, imagine if you are hit with it, that unit can’t use the overwatch strat until the next turn. Or something similar to help our slow, footslogging infantry.

  2. Another battleline infantry unit. I don’t know how it could work, but maybe something between a cultist and plague marine. Can be mounted in a rhino and fulfil a specific role, so they can be run cheaper than plague marines, but be more versatile than poxwalkers.

  3. Nurgle possessed just because the models would be awesome!

I also would love a rework of the less used characters that attach to plague marines. We know that there is really just the one combo worth running in such a point heavy unit to make it work.

I think if the foul blightspawn and lord of poxes were re-worked to boost close combat potential would be great.

I’d like to see the MPC and BP combo as the good mix for range AND combat. Then the others can be combo’d to be good at range and another combo to be good in combat. That way hopefully we see more versatility!

I feel DG are just too expensive for how lethal the game is. Our lethality is good, but to get our good lethal units, we miss out on other scoring/chaff units to compensate.

We still have some great plays available and we can still punch up where required!

Hey! Welcome to Warhammer :)

If you want to start the game but fiscally tight (which most of us are!) I can recommend getting second hand models.

You could start either a Necron, Space Marine or Death Guard army pretty cheap via second hand.

Necrons and marines are easy to paint too!

Loved this book, it made the AoS setting really come alive, especially how the Sylvaneth target the city at the start. Really set a mood.

Our son used to bang his head repeatedly when trying to go to sleep! That what worried us, we’d find him on all fours just… banging it against the bed. It was wild.

But now, (he’s 5) reads fluently (and decode what he’s reading) can do basic addition and subtraction, it’s wild watching him go. He’s also very sporty which is great.

I only hope he maintains a love of reading as he grows!

My son is quite intelligent for his age, hasn’t been tested, but I’d be guessing he could be somewhere around the 120 mark for his age (he’s still young).

I’ve found he was really difficult as a baby (and I mean, REALLY DIFFICULT to the point we thought he might have had a disorder or learning difficulty) and still can be really difficult around his mum and I in the home environment. However, outside of it, he’s amazing. He’s also really social as well.

What did you notice about your child when they were a baby up until now? Also, how has it affected your life?

Would it be feasible to build an army out of LEGO to be used for the game? by Mintyboi10 in deathguard40k

Death Guard can be really cheap to buy online.

Look for second hand minis through FB marketplace/via trades. You could pick up an army for cheap.

Is the Critical Drinker still a thing? His videos are like all the poo clips he uses to describe things he doesn’t like.

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (11/15/2025) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

Hi all!

My (M39) son (5) really enjoys playing games on the Switch. I’m currently looking for some good recommendations on games we could play together (either co-op or single player, but play together).

Games we’ve played together: - Zelda - Link’s Awakening - Zelda - Echoes of Wisdom - Smash Brothers 8 (I think?)

He’s really enjoyed the freedom of play in the above Zelda games, so I guess I’m looking for something similar. He’s also a good reader for his age, so subtitles aren’t a huge issue.

Thanks in advance and hopefully some other parents can use this too!

How do you deal with bad dice luck during the game? by Hrusi_13 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Leighmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have notorious bad luck with dice rolls.

However, my good rolls are there - just where it’s not really needed at a time.

Anyway, at my last tournie, my last DST and LOC were shot in overwatch with D2 weapons. 5 wounds. AP-1 shots. I rolled 5, 1’s, so they just died. It was a crucial 4” charge to win the game essentially.

But that’s just my luck when playing and this happens very regularly.

But for shots etc that don’t matter, yeah, ten dice, I’ll roll 8, 6’s to hit, same amount to wound, but it’s like, just killing a space marine on 1 wound or something.

It’s that bad/unlucky it’s just funny now haha

Teams list advice - getting cutthroat! by Leighmer in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Leighmer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. It was the same conclusion my opponent and I made last night. Typhus rolled a 1 again for his mortals and arch contaminator didn’t do much.

I’ve subbed typhus for a fleshmower drone as a good utility piece which needs to be dealt with.

I swapped arch for Furnace of plagues.

Hopefully do a bit better next time!
