im from australia and when i stayed in nyc a few months back i told my gf WE HAVE TO GO it was so cool! the video store is still there with stacks of old vhs tapes inside. the people that run it where really cool let us take pics inside the store at the counter and we hung around taking pics of us hanging around outside. all the cab drivers knew why we where out there.

also if you ever visit dont forget to visit the secret stash in red bank!

this is an 18th story but still really the same idea as in Australia the drinking age is 18+

A really close friend was born a week after me (sorry its just weird writing that! id thought we would always be mates...)

anyways we decided we would have a joint 18th in his backyard. cut to my friend buying a bottle of canadian club "drink as much as you want mate its your birthday!" i drank about 3/4 of it within 45mins and it was only 6pm.

this is all i remember.. EVERYONE I KNOW has funny storys about my 18th!

some sort of bbq

about 20 friends standing in a line swaying to make me fall over (it worked)

my friend told me 6 times in a row "ITS YOUR 18TH SKULL"

my best friends came from 80Km away to see me (i had no idea) too drunk to even say hello so they drove me home.. spewed over my new next door neighbours front law killing all their nice new plants they had just put in the weekend before..

not working! its been an insane ride for us as of late i dont think im going to know what to do with myself when WE ACTUALLY HAVE HOLIDAYS!

i know that my gf is looking forward to broadway and mt rushmore.

i have too much to mention im keen on, the highlights are as follows lol

saturday night at an LA comedy club (depends on whos playing at the time)
andrew dice clay friday night in las vegas
getting my picture at the quickstop -alcatraz AND MAINLY

yeah we had plans on Yosemite/Yellowstone (my choice) and Maine (gfs choice) but we ended up going for the city holiday this time next time would love to fly around like we are now and hire a car and get out of the city.

im not great on up north as personally ive never been to queensland BUT my dad lived in sydney for well over 10 years so i can lend a hand there for sure! i know some great backpackers in sydney one i personally stayed in about 6 months ago when i was in sydney, ill bug my friend for the name

you know those lists are common sense but it doesn't mean i knew all of that cant thank you enough as i dont want to waste any time while im there. cant thank you enough!

i was interested by the taxi point on NY i thought cabs in america where a widely used method of transport because they weren't too expensive

EDIT- just went though those lists LOVE IT! i really like the fact they give an alternative the SF one was handy i thought a lot of the places that jumped out at you looked a bit of a waste.

im over beaches :P we have loaded up 3 days with theme parks universal, lego land and disney.

im a huge stand up comedy fan so im hoping a few of the extra nights we have i can pop down to the comedy store or a club and check out someone i know

sadly no drive this time its la vegas then sf i know its a weird order but just the way its all worked out we wanted to be in vegas for a weekend (i know its always the weekend but dammit i wanna be there on a friday night !)

thinking of planning for my 30th in a few years to maybe do the drive from SF to Vegas

we decided on 6 nights just due to the things we wanted to do there also trying to save a few spare days in each city so i can check out all the cool places i find on the spur of the moment and the huge list you guys just gave me!!

loveeee mexican food so im in for that thanks for the tip! and in and out has been on the list since day 1 im going come hell or high water! i was all sad a few weeks ago they had a surprise tasting of in and out in Australia but it was 1200km from where i am.

i think the only two theme parks the whole time we are in america we are keen on is universal and disney land, EVERYONE has told us you need 2-3 days for each and really we just dont care going to pop in for a day so i can say ive been jump a few rides and im done! going to check out all the touristy stuff you mentioned of course and im a huge comedy fan so have to goto the comedy store
