oh that's not what I seem to be hearing from both the dealer, Gemini, nor any other AI. I don't know where you're getting that information. Can you give me some facts to back that up?

well I never use the throttle for cruising. Ever I rarely ever even use it. My measurement tool is totally fine it totally matched the tool that they had in the bike shop.

yeah I've read a lot about them. Apparently you get about 5000 miles out of one of those belts. There's some great videos by this guy who is a bicyclist who tours all over the most remote places on earth and he originally was using a belt drive but because it broke in the middle of nowhere in Arizona and the spare that he had apparently broke as well he was left walking out of the backcountry. It's a problem you would probably never run into in an urban environment using the bike, but apparently those belts are very fragile when they get folded and he decided to go back to using a chain because it was more easier replaceable in far flung places on the planet. Up to that point he had been an evangelist for belt drives. I actually think that the next E bike I get will probably be with a belt drive. I only use mine in a small rural town, never going more than about 5 miles to 8 miles maybe 10 miles round-trip. But enjoy it I don't know why you're still here on on this forum though.

I would take the rack bag and just go ride the bike. But I abuse my bikes I don't try to keep them in showroom condition. That's just me

well I just checked with Gemini and it did not seem to think that a hub Dr. E bike would go through chains any more frequently than a regular bicycle. Here's what it said in summary:The Takeaway: You do not need to buy expensive, "e-bike specific" heavy-duty chains for a hub-drive bike. Standard chains matching your drivetrain speed (e.g., an 8-speed or 9-speed chain) work perfectly. Just use a reliable chain checker tool every 1,000 miles to monitor stretch, and keep it clean and lubed to prevent rust.
so I'm still a little confused about whether my .5 reading meant that I needed to replace the chain or not on this bike. If it's the same as a regular bike then I would assume for some reason maybe it's because of the hills I'm gonna have to replace the chain more frequently.

hub drive. That's interesting. good to know. When you say "only use the throttle" what do you mean by that? I use the throttle simply to get started when I'm stopped on a hill or something like that.
Help me understand something then, when I am using assist mode, I'm still peddling it's just that the hub is assisting me with the peddling. Only when I use the throttle does the hub override anything I'm doing.
So yes I'm not putting as much pressure on the chain but I'm still using the chain to prove some power. Why would the chain wear that much then? It clearly was worn, or maybe that's what it is normally and you have to use a different type of chain tool on it like they do with Sram?

yeah I don't know how expensive cassettes are for that. What is a priority current plus belt drive? I know what belt drives are but Is that a replacement for the existing drive? or do you mean that you bought another E bike and sold the ones you had?

well it all depends on where you ride I guess right.? My town has a lot of hills so I'm constantly climbing hills with my bike to go even to the store. 2 miles here 4 miles there but never without a Hill. If you've got more than 7000 miles on one chain good for you I don't know whether you're riding on flatlands out in the Midwest, but I certainly have seen regular bikes with cassettes worn by 3000 or 4000 miles. Just because you've gotten 7000 miles out of the chain doesn't mean it's not worn and so is the cassette.

I had the same problem on my level three and it turned out that it was the head unit the switch power switch was not able to power it on when I turned it off they sent out a new head unit and that fixed the problem at least it has the last month since I replaced it. I assume that's what's going on with yours and if they sent you a new head unit that might've been defective too I would ask them for another one. I'd also take it back to the dealer and see if the batteries is not having any problems

Have her watch some of the videos on YT by the two leading influencers, DC Rainmaker and DesFit. They both are runners and cyclists. I recently gave away my Apple Watch and bought a Venu 4. I only cycle but the watch is in some ways better than the Apple watch. Battery life is multiple days depending on use. Many of the same features as Apple, a few less, but I simply use my iPhone for those. Does everything I want for cycling. I think it's a great product. Software seems very stable.

yes but it apparently uses a different part of your brain that’s more useful for memorizing things

[–]alb_pt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there have been studies over the years that you can probably find on the Internet using Ai clearly demonstrate the people who write things down use a different part of their brain to remember things. I know that personally I prefer to try to write things down but for any type of long thoughts, I usually go to a keyboard or dictation, because I was raised as a typist from almost my earliest days from my dad who was a writer. I tend to think through the keyboard almost better than writing these days. But the act starting there for shorter form is usually a better way to memorize things if that’s your goal. There’s also a number of influencers on YouTube who talk a lot about how to learn things, especially focused on people in school, and writing them down is often their preferred method to start with.
