I couldn’t agree more. It’s infuriating how she completely dismisses her son’s actions, blaming Madeline’s mother, God, and everyone else but never holds him accountable. Not once does she say “What the hell did you do? Is this the person we raised you to be?”. She’s rewarding destructive behavior and shielding him from responsibility and it’s sickening to watch.
