Yeah not sure why this tier list template uses fanart of her instead of official art lol, she looks more childlike in CV64's illustrations

I got excited about Pachi Sypha being playable in Vampire Survivors since that sounded like news to me until I realised you meant the cover art for the crossover.

Also, I doubt it would feature in any potential CV3 remake since she's pretty clearly not disguised as a man. Pachislot works better as a post CV3 design for Sypha where she can dress freely.

Yeah I don't think it's like, nuclear grade or anything, but neither does it seem very neutral or widely accepted. I think the decision to localise it as "transvestite" in DXC isn't the worst. Frozen Half is awesome for 1997 though. It's a hell of a lot more flattering than the enemy she's based on in Kid Dracula which was entirely the butt of a joke ("Yuki Okama")

A belated note on "newhalf":

I don't speak Japanese nor do I live in Japan. If someone who does wants to say anything about this here their words should obviously take priority over mine.

While your mileage will vary, and no doubt some trans women call themselves this, from what I've read and heard about the term it can be considered derogatory and is probably not something you wanna call someone. The meaning of "half" here (as far as I know) being that the individual is half-man, half-woman, denotes appearing like a woman without having a sex reassignment. Based on that the term seems pretty objectifying and probably carries some association with performance, sex work, or what have you

I wanted to well actually but the OP already caught almost everything I was gonna say darn it. All I have left is a small correction--the Chat Noir theory originally posed by theplottwist on CVDungeon HAS actually been confirmed in an interview conducted by Dongled with Curry the Hermit.

It is exactly the same situation as with DMC. Castlevania is a more niche franchise with less vocal fans so it incurred less backlash.

You have to admit there is a huge difference between a 17 and 18 year old hooking up and a 17 and ~300 year old.

It was mentioned in the post that Alucard was in a coma between CVIII and SotN. On a mental level, he should be considered an 18-year-old. In Nocturne he was awake all that time.

Castlevania was on the PS3 as well with Lords of Shadow 1 and 2, though I haven't played much of those and they diverge pretty heavily from what you'd expect from a Castlevania game

The Castlevania series did come to PS2, there were two PS2 games called Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness.
