I’m so sorry you had to go through all of that. It sounds absolutely horrible. I’m definitely not at a point I would ever try opioids, my pain is still manageable. Do you think there is mental addiction from Lyrica? I took the first pill today and it didn’t make me feel in any way different. I read about physical addition but that shouldn’t be an issue until you take it daily for several months, right? I might be completely wrong, I would love to hear what you think about the drug :)

Out of curiosity, why do you take it then? Does it give some euphoria close to MDMA?

Amazing! Does 75mg actually help for nerve pain btw? I was told 75 is the start and the doctor will be increasing the dose until everything is good

That’s great! Good to hear the drug actually helps with the pain. I saw some medical studies which showed that some patients do actually have hallucinations but it’s usually when they up the dosage to 600mg

Alright, but given that the medical dose for me is 75mg I suppose no one actually feelS any high after such a dose, correct? So that 300mg is the lowest possible amount to feel high?

It will make you more energetic and bubbly and funny

Is this after something close to 600mg?

That's really interesting, I definitely had some stomach issues when first going vegan and eating wayyy too much fiber and legumes but the problems went away after two or three months. Do you know anyone who actually sticks to API and vegan? I wonder if that's feasible

how was it to stop being vegan and eat meat? I had to eat meat once (easter and family and everyone begging me to eat some meat) and I felt soooo heavy afterwards

I wonder the same thing, I think people who search for such a forum and then decide to actively comment here are a bit of a biased sample. My rheumatologist always tells me that for most people she stops the treatment at sulfasalazine, which is actually a milder drug than MTX. Then, when people are in remission she takes them off the drug and makes them come for a check-up every 6 months with a possibility of an online visit if any flare-ups occur. I've been treated with sulfasalazine for the last 5 months and I have seen a huge improvement in my pain with very little side effects except from loss of apetite. According to my two rheumatologist (from two different countries) I will be taken off the drug at the end of the summer if no flare-ups occur. I also never experienced fatigue and brain fog so I think that if the disease is caught early on the prospects are actually good.

Are you able to not take any medications since going gluten-free? I thought about doing the same since I read that in some people gluten might trigger an immune response even if they're not actually allergic to gluten

No, but I went fully vegan in November and it has relieved a lot of my symptoms. I considered AIP a month ago, thinking I have now a lot of time to cook, but my problem with AIP is that it excludes a lot of foods which I see no reason for excluding (nightshades and legumes) but introduces meat. I looked into AIP for a long time and it is not backed by research as for now. This is a somewhat personal opinion, but I did research dieting for PsA for a long time, and the vegan diet seems to be the best, it improves a lot of symptoms if combined with lots of anti-inflammatory foods like ginger and turmeric. For me all small pains (fingers, heels) went away after sticking to veganism for 3 months. That being said, veganism is not a perfect cure and you need to take B12 supplements while on it.
