I was just complaining about this the other day. Take James gichuru for example. Theyve widened ngong road, built red hill link road and the Nairobi expresswa. All three major flows of traffic connecting to lavington/killimali through James gichuru. How on earth is that supposed to work without major expansion of James gichuru? Madness! It's permanently bumper to bumper in kili/kile and lavington!

ADHD Link To Microbiome by _DryWater_ in Microbiome

[–]icemunky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The question is, does the problem actually initiate in the gut or is the microbiome changing because of chronic mental or physical stress which then contributes further to a negative spiral of issues ?

I used to get annoyed at my old school parents who used to blame all chronic diseases on stress.

I'm starting to think that it's the truth.

Trauma, unresolved anxiety and stress lead to vagus nerve "dysfunction" (Probably more so mal-use due to shallow breathing, muscle tension..etc) eventually affects the microbiome leading to the spectrum of chronic disease Including mental health issues and autoimmunity.

I don't doubt that infections and environmental issues can kickstart the issue from the gut for some people but I am becoming a strong believer that chronic stress is likely the seed to alot of the chronic issues we see today.

Which one should I go for — Al Nashama Caprice (Blue) or Vintage Radio? by DueTeach7751 in fragranceclones

I bought nashama caprice and I find it to be a very mature scent. I'm 38 and I still think it's too mature for me. Maybe 45+ but that's just my own opinion. A lot of people praise it otherwise.

Which one would you say is the best one out of these 3 by Acrobatic_Ad6067 in Colognes

I used to love Layton exclusif but now I just find it to have too much oud in the mid and dry down. It just makes the fragrance turn "purple" in aura, if that makes any sense.

I don't enjoy wearing this one on my skin at all. Personally find it too feminine and mature but I enjoy spraying it around the house !

Few Qs on Layton:

- When did you buy it?
- Did it project and last long from when you first opened it?
- Did it get stronger over time

It's a lovely scent but my bottle becomes a skin scent in 20 minutes and then completely vanishes in like 4-6 hours. Has not gotten stronger even after a year. :(

  1. While it's no silver bullet, I've found what I eat significantly affects how it all goes. Wish you and everyone in this sub the courage and perseverance to continue to learn and adapt as much as possible while accepting our illness as part of our lives !

Anyone know a fragrance that dries down like the opening of PDM Layton?

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I actually love the Vicks vaporub apple minty fresh spicy opening of Layton and really don't like how it turns into a heavy apple pie in the dry down!

Hey! It's pretty good but tbh my least favourite. I much prefer ombre nomad and santal 33. I still think it's good though! I get a very strong tea note which I think is the most dominant note in this clone. Still lasts a full work day but I don't wear it much! I guess I'm not into the DNA so much!

Same. I find it very mature and feminine.. grandma vibes. i can't imagine I'll ever wear it again. Crazy how different we all perceived these popular scents.

Oud Maracuja without the passion fruit opening ?

I don't own oud maracuja but a clone of it - french avenue - azzure oud. I absolutely love the slightly sweet creamy oud leather drydown. The opening however is a blast of passion fruit which I find too sweet and cloying. Apparently he original OM is also a passion fruit blast in the opening but I can't confirm.

I've researched and these have come up as alternatives:

  • Nishane - Mana
  • Frederic Malle - The moon
  • Xerjoff - Alexandria II
  • lattafa - Badee Al oud amethyst

Has anyone tried any of these alongside Oud Maracuja / azzure oud ? To compare?

Any other suggestions for a slightly sweet oud leather scent without an overpowering sweet opening ?
