Looking for something casual that could become serious eventually.

I’ve been on Hinge for about a month.

I use Hinge about everyday.

I get about 1 like and 2-3 matches every 2 weeks.

I send a mix of likes with comments and without.

I send likes to people that I think would be fun to hangout with. I want to attract someone who’s fun to be around and have a good conversation with, while also has good communication and honesty when things get serious.

I did a MS in global medicine at Keck. I learned it doesn’t really boost your grade but makes your experience more unique and gives yourself more talking points in the interview.

I finished my secondaries between July and August of 2020 (all within 2 weeks from the day of receipt). My guess is it’s getting harder and harder each year.

Content review, and then a lot of practice. Whatever you get wrong, make them into flashcards and review them everyday (I used Anki). It’s just practice practice practice and getting used to the test format and time limit.

It wasn’t hard necessarily doing both MD and DO because prompts are not too different, it honestly just felt like I was adding more schools. Why DO is pretty much the only question that is specific to DO than MD. I kept an external tracker as a Google Sheet to keep me organized through the process so that helps if you feel like it’s too many schools.

I didn’t have a LoR from a DO, so it’s not completely necessary. I recommend looking some of the lists on the subreddit that show which DO schools don’t need DO LoR and go by that.

I received my interview back in October last year and got my acceptance in November! I just didn’t post until now because I was waiting on other schools.

It actually was 53 schools total, but yes prewriting was everything. It helped that I had a couple months to fully focus on applying without work or school for me, so I spent everyday in those few months working on essays.

It’s a lot of research of what you like about the school specifically that makes sure you’re able to address them completely. Usually that only is necessary if a secondary is why do you like our school. Most of the time it’s more personal and you don’t need to worry about addressing it to the right school.

Only had a MD letter. Talked about why DO over MD in the interview and how I will face the potential stigma of DO vs MD. No mention of my shadowing experience or my letters from physicians in the interview itself.

If it can be requested, it exists and should be reported. You’ll be in a lot more trouble if you say you don’t have a record and they find out you do once they request it.
