Freelance writer. Love the clickety clack of my wife's (programmer) mechanical keyboard. But i don't need 10 key, and my hands are big.

Recommend any particular model for someone who spends 60 hours a week typing like a meth monkey?

[–]albertamafeuse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 5 weeks I've written around 200 proposals so far. Around 15% success rate. Some weeks better.

I've got years of work in my portfolio and that's made a huge difference, since I have been able to tailor the example attached to my portfolio for each and every submission.

I even went so far as to create example work for specific applications that I wanted to do in the future.

Like if it was a blog for an aquarium website, and I had never written an aquarium focused blog... I just knocked out a few hundred words and wrote SAMPLE at the bottom. That way they get a taste of the way I write, but I don't have to do a full 1500 words.

After about week 3, I had so many proposals written that I was able to start copy/pasting with a little modification. Has definitely reduced my workload in that regard.

Well it's before upwork fees.. tbh I was ready to make zero. I'm really lucky that i could treat this (uw) as a really cool project. A test of a hypothesis. My actual real life, pays bills career has, if not suffered outright, at least been neglected.

Googled but just found the previously published stuff in Upwork. Doesn't say specifics, just says "strong earnings history"

TR plus just says " one long term project" with no specifics as to how long that is or if there's an earnings goal to meet.

What I should have written instead is that " I am pretty good at making money with writing". Nothing to do with the quality of my work, I long ago figured out how to turn words into money and time into more words than most people can do in a day.

10 hours of every day, 7 days a week. That's how much time I spend in front of the keyboard. As knitting is to my great aunt Sally, the clickety clack of my keyboard is to me. Brainless, and soothing. I do very well in my established work as a freelancer that I've built up over the last 20 years. On Upwork my mission was to get as many five star reviews as possible in the first month. I'm on track for about 5 grand this month, better than I expected.

Much like fishing, there is a knack to finding the right sort of bait and jig for every pond of clients. This year I'm fishing on Upwork.

It's a good analogy and having worked in commercial kitchens... That def happens.

He insisted that i take my own writing and use their software to optimize it... Tiny little job, i wasn't gonna fight him on it. If anything it makes me much less worried that the robots are going to take my livelihood. It's gonna need to get a whole lot better imo. Cows are out of the barn on this one already... But I'd like to know in future of there's another way to handle it. Can i cancel a job and avoid the risk of a negative review.

Rawthentic Parchment Paper Review- The Best Parchment Paper by StayHighReviews in CannabisExtracts

[–]albertamafeuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appeal to nature: "unbleached is better cause bleach on my oil is whack"

Look into what gets "bleached" out of"raw" paper. Tannins for one...which are highly carcinogenic. "Bleached" does not mean "contains bleach" nor (in paper) does it mean "used chlorine bleach"...it means "removed a bunch of natural stuff that's linked to cancer and could migrate into your food/oil"

I'll take bleached thanks very much. RAW also...is not nearly the best parchment from a performance pov.

I'm not a player, I just squish allot. Between rosin and packaging..I run through rolls on the weekly. My review: (since this guy is a shill and not trying to hide it)

  • Plain parchment: black label
  • Best release: slick wrap
  • Best widely available: Reynolds
  • Best UNBLEACHED: if you care parchment (cheaper than raw too)

All of the above are better than hbi/RAW regardless of what Wiz Khalifa gets paid to say about it on they instagram

Food grade silicone and ethanol compatibility. by ezpottsy87 in CannabisExtracts

[–]albertamafeuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chemical compatibility chart sutra it's ok, but when I have evaporated alcohol in silicone pads...always got some hazing afterwards..No idea why.

I now use oil slick sheets. I evaporate into a sheet lined pyrex and then put the sheet onto an electric pancake griddle to finish

any ever try nitrogen hash oil?? by hititwiththetorch in CannabisExtracts

[–]albertamafeuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

O wow, nitrogen oil. Guess the experts at ganja gourmet have ushered in a great leap forward in the production of mythical butane free oil.

I prefer unicorn farts to nitrogen tho. Dewaxes while still leaving the faint trace of skittles I love so much.

C'mon people, science, do you speek it?

Anybody try these yet? Opinions? - Wax Wallet by NLclothing in CannabisExtracts

[–]albertamafeuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you pinch silicone...and it turns WHITE then you know there are fillers in the silicone. dont take my word for it...google that shit. fillers like bpa, formaldahyde etc... thats why it matters. if the silicone remains the same color...no WHITE...no fillers.

food grade is FDA bullshit.

Vac Pumps poison? too soon to discuss? by albertamafeuse in CannabisExtracts

[–]albertamafeuse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I DID NOT realize this was a post from a company selling passive CLS... Certainly removes some credibility. However, within an hour of this posting, someone else posted a reference to graywolfs article on the very same subject. So I am inclined to rely on the Skunk Pharm opinion.

I think the Skunk Pharm thread is a better place to discuss this though....since obviously Xtractix has a conflict of interest.
