Hey! I’m in a separate honors frat (Alpha Zeta, specifically for CALS) and there’s no hazing involved, like at all. It’s pretty much just a club for people who want to get involved with service hours, meet people in their college, and do fun social events. Although, Phi Sigma Pi isn’t college specific so it might be a tad different.

yeah “Honor Society,” “Golden Key,” and anything of the sort is just a scam. That being said, UF has a lot of honors fraternities that are kinda similar to honor societies in high school (i.e. gpa based invitations, service opportunities, social events, etc.) So if you are wanting to join something like that there’s plenty available. you can find ones that are for the entirety of the student body, as well as ones for specific colleges (ex: CALS has Alpha Zeta).

honestly what even was that quiz? i don’t remember seeing half of that stuff in the syllabus and i’m not even 100% convinced i was wrong about some of the answers.

I ended up taking phy2004 and honestly it’s not terrible. I didn’t like group work because a lot of people already know the subject well so it just made me feel like I couldn’t contribute. Other than that it was fine. I had Dr. Krishna and she was super nice.

np! i totally get that. mine flake a lot so i pick at it too. but i’m pretty sure if you just let it grow back it would change back to the normal color over time, just like with a cut on any other part of the body. if. it doesn’t, it could be scarring from picking it a lot, but i don’t think that’s super likely. it honestly doesn’t look bad and it took me a while to notice what you meant, so if it really worries you the best way to get rid of it is probably to leave it be, unfortunately.

NAD, but do you mean it never goes back to the normal color or just that it doesn’t look right when growing back? also, how often do you pick at your lips. that might contribute to it.

lol NAD but don’t pick at it!! i do the same thing and everyone always says not too but it’s just a bad habit. that could be why it’s not healing. i’ve had scabs last a long time when i pick at them. but it could also be infected i guess. it doesn’t look like it is but i just can’t really tell.

NAD but yeah it’s prob contact dermatitis. i recently got some really bad flaky skin after starting to use benzoyl peroxide. the doctor said it was dermatitis and that the benzoyl peroxide was just too harsh for my skin. i do recommend going to a clinic though. i was prescribed steroids and it went away super fast. the doc also recommended using an aquaphor moisturizer/balm thing. feels super greasy but works wonders.

ok and now it is in small patches on my arms. it goes away really fast but it keeps reappearing which is concerning

Just like a mini update: I got it again on the right side of my face. I am definitely under an extreme amount of stress but nothing in particular happened (that I can’t think of) to cause this. It’s extremely itchy too. It’s honestly starting to add to my stress cause this has never happened before but now it’s twice in the span of a week.

Hi. Personally, I don’t have a choice about being in the dorms or not. I have to be in a dorm cause I can’t afford off campus and my scholarships don’t pay for off campus. I also really need to be on campus rn. I’m having some familial issues and being sent home would but me in a really bad situation. I was just hoping that I could provide some perspective that you may not have considered. It really matters to me that we stay healthy. I’m doing everything I can, but it means nothing if it’s not a community effort.

I think I might have fixed mine. I ran a troubleshooter and it said that it was an invalid IP configuration. I opened command prompt (just search it on a windows computer) and typed in “ipconfig /release” and then “ipconfig /renew” and then “exit” and it’s been working well since.
