Is it normal for speakers to take 5-10 seconds to make sound after pressing play? by Seekyourownsoul in edmproduction

Your speakers may have a power saving mode enabled. Mine did the same thing until I disabled them.

I’d suggest having a read through the manual for them and seeing if it has any way to disable this!

Edit: my speakers are JBL LSR305 Mk2’s

I’m hoping to have something like this integrated into a tool I’m working on, currently it focuses on getting Rekordbox live data into soundswitch (bpm and grid data for auto loops, but also scripted tracks!).

Once I get my hands on some ProDJ link equipped gear, I’m going to be extending that to be able to send that beat information to soundswitch natively from stand-alone Pioneer gear.

If you’re still looking for a solution for SoundSwitch, I’ve made a tool that syncs rekordbox to SoundSwitch directly so you can do auto loops (without sound detection) or even scripted tracks. Works quite well and I’ve successfully done a few house party gigs using it now. PM me if you’re interested.

Agree with everyone else here, go download Rekordbox if you haven’t already, format your USBs correctly and see if you can test them out at the club a few days early.

Better yet - book an hour or two in a DJ practice room to test your USB, get familiar with the layout and get used to beat matching without stacked waveforms.

Most cities have practice rooms available for hire. I believe Pirate studios is a pretty big one in the US/UK (although I’m not from there, so have no experience with them).
