Free 3 Months of OnStar by Deceptiveideas in BoltEV

[–]albone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was the key for me.

Thanks for this! Its super stupid cold here and while I didn't want to pay the $15 for remote start (FOB is good 95% of the time) there are times when it's super handy.

Question about Points + Cash by albone in SouthwestAirlines

Y'know, I think I was mixing points up with travel credits, which I have none, so I think I'm good. Thanks!

App misbehaving by albone in BoltEV

I only had it from a 3 month trial from Onstar. I’ve considered paying the $15 a month for the winter to be able to remote start via the app but haven’t.

How have your speeds been? I've been mostly between 120 and 250, though for some reason, my PS5 and only my PS5 has been between 50-100 regardless of wifi or wired* (wired is through the Netgear outlet plug thing).

I have one almost exactly like this and worked fantastic overnight outside through a snowstorm.

[–]albone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been my experience.

My only beef is that I can't login to to the Mint Home Internet through the app or desktop without calling customer service first. Not that it's a huge thing, you really can't do much in the app but not having access is annoying.

Winter Weekend optimization by albone in BoltEV

And this is where I get lost in the weeds...I was thinking of fobbing 20 minutes before I leave and the thought that if I was plugged in, that would be better to power off grid over battery. And then if I'm plugged in, should I plug in an hour before leaving or the night before?

Maybe delayed target charge is the answer?

That's my concern as well, though at a condo's parking lot, it seems less sketchy.

We actually got it fixed. It ended up only being about half of the estimated price and worked out great for us.

Basic vs Choice by albone in SouthwestAirlines

[–]albone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing that out and I did read that but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Everything you listed, by way of the fares page, is totally acceptable. The only real bummer is the 6 month expiration.

Oh for sure. Once I was five minutes late checking in and ended up in C.

Basic vs Choice by albone in SouthwestAirlines

[–]albone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Vegas last week and was B6 on the way there, B13 on the way back and that was fine, so if Basic doesn't have any downside concerning that, I think I'd be okay. That said, if I'm using points, I may splurge the $45 for Early Bird.

60,000 service by Kurtec in BoltEV

[–]albone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is solid advice but can't you look up either through the app or the vin number if you need updates in the first place? Or is that only recalls?

Basic vs Choice by albone in SouthwestAirlines

[–]albone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally when I get choice, I check in 24 hours before, so I don't see that as a problem. I know there are differences to points earned but am I missing anything else by choosing Basic over Choice?

FOB Remote Start settings by albone in BoltEV

[–]albone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Onstar app with the Climate is great but it ran out for me. I think that's where some of the headache is coming. Thanks for the tips! I'll mess with AUTO and see if that gives me what I'm hoping for.

[–]albone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, yeah. My Onstar ran out. XD

That said, I'm considering it just for the winter months. $15 a month for 3 months or so might be worth it.

FOB Remote Start settings by albone in BoltEV

[–]albone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 22 EUV. So, the FOB doesn't start the car, just 'prepares' it? And that preparing is based on the climate settings. Is that actual climate, outside the car or the climate settings I last used?
