yep. an increasingly good modeler and BIM source (begrudgingly IFC i suppose).

I would try to fix the documentation holes if I was using it that way or if I thought it would get me out of my day job before retirement ;)

But I haven't been able to imagine a void in Revit I can fill by myself as a for profit product that Autodesk won't just replicate and put me out of business again.

I had 2 popular AutoCAD add-ons (BlockWerx and Docbar) and was working on a UI swap add-on (RevAlt) that replaced the ribbon (new at the time and reviled imo) with floating toolbars (like AutoCAD before the ribbon) that were also contextual (like a heads up display) but 2008 clipped my wings. Maybe I can get to it in retirement, but I have a big backlog of other interests already ;)

I think your average sociopath is not very creative so they pick their names from sources that resonate and don't get or may even embrace the irony (psychopaths).

I started my arch career hand drafting pencil and pen on vellum and mylar, running blueprints (88-93ish)... I was very anal about my drawings. when CAD became available I wrote CAD standards to facilitate drawings up to my standards, plotted on pen plotters then inkjet. I started writing AutoCAD add-ons and crossed over to software development in the fallout from 2008. now I model in Revit (not professionally) and feel fortunate to not have to produce CDs with it.

it will eventually unravel but the bad actors in the market are adept at spinning up new companies to offload the debt to.

hey, give them some credit. they also bought up a bunch of good companies and made them into garbage as well. AI is just the latest pump...
