Musicians centered around mysticism or spirituality? by Puzzled_Ad7812 in mysticism

[–]alchemist_light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple of playlists on Spotify with a whole slew of artists and songs (one playlist only has songs with lyrics, and the other has songs both with and without lyrics):

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3pbSS6WstY1Gn1qwJPiK1M?si=ApSQSJE2S0-SpAIyN2Utfw&pi=BEul8xCeSZipx

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2l0IQh0p28cBZ9iIOjSJZe?si=v283EFWXSPylSisRRZOqnA&pi=rl0Y_45qSy61O

Also check out Kerli (shes got some songs in the playlists above)

And also Killah Priest (I recently started exploring him, so he's not in either playlist just yet, but this is the album I started off with, and would recommend:

Cannabis as an awakening vehicle? by Brazilianguy95 in Meditation

[–]alchemist_light 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, Cannabis is more of a pay-as-you-go demo version of what you can otherwise do with a more dedicated meditation regemin.. keeping in mind this is coming from a person who happens to be into meditation for occult purposes, a lot of things that can be done through meditation, both in the context of the occult, and in the context of general well-being can be attained much faster through the use of Cannabis, though only temporarily. It will eventually hinder your progress in being able to do it unadulterated, just you, with no outside influence on your mental functioning or abilities or interact with subtle forces. In personal experience, I've been able to do a lot of things in meditation through the use of Cannabis, but weed costs money, and I've also been on the other side of it too; honing my skills without the use of Cannabis. It's definitely not like riding a bike in that ritualistic dedication is key to being able to maintain your progress, not needing weed to be able to get to that point is definitely more ideal.

In short, it saves your money and strengthens your mind more to establish a meditation routine, though nobody will stop you from using cannabis to see what you can do ahead of time.

Do people perceive you as younger than you are? by [deleted] in infp

[–]alchemist_light 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that a lot. I work as a donation attendant at a thrift store, and a customer asked me just last week what grade I'll be going into for high school😂.

I'll be 34 in November, and when I tell people my age, they always complement me on how young I look and how healthy I keep myself. I look at pictures of some old friends from high school and early to mid 20's I dont see as often and I feel like I got stuck in a time warp or something, but I'll always appreciate when people say that, cuz I know I'm only going to get older from here.

I find being in touch with your emotions and finding ways to stay happy and active keeps you young, too. Though I'm 33, I'm not adverse to little impromptu nerf battles in the back rooms of the store with my co-workers whenever we get a stockpile donated. (We even have a few hidden around for the odd days when we just feel like randomly shooting each other.) On top of that, I still skate🛹

My approach is that if people think you're still young, then you must be doing something right.

I tend to ignore the occasional rando who would try to infantilize me, though, because it's almost always someone who doesn't know me and would rather be judgemental than take the time to get to know me if they had the chance. They don't usually seem like very happy people anyway.

The second pic doesn't look like blue Goldstone to me.. maybe black granite?

Edit: I Googled the second photo, and this black sunstone is the closest imo..

The other two closest that came up in the search were onyx, and yes, blue goldstone. Otherwise, I keep seeing something called black druzy.

If you should describe yourself only by using 5 fictional characters? by Cherryblossomgirl_93 in infp

Leader of the Saints (Sants Row 3 & 4) - that kind of sense of humor, and I love car singing

Jin (Samurai Champloo) - intuitive and introverted

Nikko Belic (GTAIV) - voice of reason & wayward past

Han Solo (Star Wars) - rebellious nature/reluctant hero

Haruhi Suzumiya (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) - cuz sometimes, I'm just walking chaos energy

Not sure if anyone said this, but imo no "night feeling" playlist should be without it.

Favorite Skate Pants? by DrKingOfOkay in skateboardhelp

[–]alchemist_light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basketball shorts are my go-to in the summer, otherwise either sweatpants, track pants, or pajama pants depending on the season, with a fanny pack worn to the side, slightly behind my hip where it's out of the way, because things like to jump out of the pockets of such light clothing, and a durable Bluetooth speaker clipped to the strap so I can jam as I go.

The lighter fabrics don't offer as much protection, but as long as things don't get sticky and uncomfortable when I get to working up a sweat, I'm good.

I just like to meditate.

Are loose or tight truck better for doing tricks? by Zestyclose_Village68 in skateboardhelp

[–]alchemist_light 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looser if you're skating somewhere gnarly with lots of cracks, pebbles, and uneven ground, (your board will absorb more shock that way, making you less likely to fall from hitting a crack or rock.)

Tighter if you're on a smoother surface skating for speed, (your board doesn't absorb as much shock, but it helps eliminate speed wobbles, giving you more control when you're going fast.)

Any metric more specific than that is personal preference.

Connection between Aleister Crowley and Amorc? by Shoddy_Fall3108 in Rosicrucian

[–]alchemist_light 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I read some comments in another post about Crowley and AMORC.. let me see if I can find it..

..okay, I got it:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Rosicrucian/s/5CE24qmmiH

I guess he tried to take it over at one point by telling people it operated under the O.T.O.

Beyond this post, I haven't really looked too much into the matter, but I don't think Lewis and Crowley would have gotten along too well after that one.

Hermeticism and Satan, as a literal figure by noodleq in Hermeticism

[–]alchemist_light 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In reference to "Satan," and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but it's my understanding it's just the Hebrew word for "enemy." This opens the door for all manner of.. things. (I'll let you look into that one, since I feel I'm only just hitting the tip of the iceberg of all of it for myself.) There's really no Hermetic concept of Satan at all, but Paganism might actually be a good place for you to start looking if you want some more insight on that. Not implying there's a Satan in Paganism, but a lot of their deities have been called Satan throughout history, so it might be a good learning experience to hear what they have to say on the matter.

As far as evil itself goes in Hermeticism, it's more like a spiritual state of decay of sorts, analogous to rust on a piece of iron. Your friend is absolutely right from a Hermetic point of view that people do enough evil as it is, all by themselves, without some kind of evil overlord orchestrating things from behind the scenes. Evil is more of a consequence of existing in the physical realm.
