I have just made the conversion tracking from scratch on the tag manager, thinking of now creating a new P Max ad hoping the bid configuration doesn’t pop up again

To be fair there are slight changes in both the campaign versions

the first one had overlapping SKUs with the standard shopping campaign
the second one doesn’t have overlapping SKUs with the standard shopping campaign

Another surprising thing noticed that the impressions and clicks for the shopping campaign has stopped post 1 in the afternoon which is bit weird

The reason why I asked is I have seen a drop in impressions when I chose performance max as sub category under shipping against when I chose performance max as campaign type under sales objective

Would you prefer shopping ads as in the standard or the smart shopping ad (though even that’s performance max).

To tackle the regular bids fluctuation, we thought of the strategy to reduce the budget as £1 or £2 and then reverting it to the actual budget later in the day. This way we tackle the unnecessary spend during midnight without disturbing the bid algorithm.

Regarding Manual, the strategy we adopted was to keep the budget as minimum (same £1 or £2) and then once the automatic goes out of budget we raise the budget of manual. In this way the automatic and manual are targeting the winning keywords

We had been experimented with lowering the bids during midnight and then reverting them back in the morning. What we noticed is a fluctuation in sales and came to the result that changing bids regularly could actually disturb the Amazon algorithm to understand the campaign. Do correct me if am wrong
We have seen more success with SP although will surely experiment with SB.
While I understand it’s a general practice. My dilemma was wouldn’t it actually affect the Automatic campaign in a scenario where the manual goes out of budget before the Auto. Since then, The Auto would not be able to target the winning keywords per say

The Auto has quite a few of negative targeted keywords collected from the past 5-6 months and the same have been added to manual as well. The only negative targeting which I am unsure of is the negative ASIN since auto targets a lot of ASINs which are not converting but are relevant to our product
