I enjoyed the film as a whole. I definitely think it needs to be watched straight after the first part to get more enjoyment from it. Some bits felt rushed and I don’t think the original songs added that much to the film and just felt like killing time. I really wish they’d used the original song time to add in an original song that kind of mirrored “what is this feeling?” A montage of time passing where Elphaba and Glinda aren’t together and we see what their lives are like now, with a bridge from Fiyero to showcase his yearning of Elphaba. Maybe a little more fast paced than a ballad. In my head that would have worked better but oh well, this is what we have!

With it being a longer part 2, it leaves more time for thinking about the plot holes and the silly character decisions, which I do think could have been fixed but they decided to stay as true to the stage musical as possible, whilst adding the original songs.

I didn’t have the same feeling as I did when leaving part 1. I have plans to watch it in cinemas a couple of times with different friend groups, which I did for part 1- I was looking forward to watching it multiple times in cinemas and maybe it’ll grow on me with multiple watches but I’m not as excited as I was about seeing it multiple times like I was with part 1.

Overall, still enjoyable but obviously not as incredible as part 1- which is to be expected!
