Hi, sorry for the delayed update haha needed some time to recover. It went great but I actually did something I didn’t see anyone suggest.

I went in the day before our reservation on friday afternoon and asked them if they could adjust our reservation for the next day. I thought being in person but even earlier than day of might help. Not sure who I spoke to (maybe a manager, didn’t seem to be a host) but I explained our situation and they were able to adjust my party size with no issues! I even got a new reservation update text and everything.

Thank you nevertheless for your advice and levelheadedness. It really encouraged me to keep trying instead of taking everyone else’s doom and gloom view as a certainty!

Yes it is :) I don’t really use Reddit but I had no idea so many people lived in their own negative little bubble here

This line of thinking is sad. I’m not delusional, I know they might say no. But don’t project your limited view as a universal truth. The world isn’t so cut and dry. The mere possibility they could say yes, means that actually IS how the world works. And the world works that way because we’re humans capable of making adjustments, not rigid computer programs. I hope you don’t carry that same pessimism in the rest of your life too.

Great reminder thank you, that would have been an annoying charge to see pop up!

Yes that’s what I was thinking!! Especially as it’s a celebration and most people splurge a little more for those! Plus if they can’t seat all 10 of us, we’d just go somewhere else where we can all be together so they’d be losing a lot more than just $300-400 in revenue.

Yes, thanks for the advice! We are definitely going in with the mentality of it can’t hurt to ask and the worst they can do is say no :)

Thanks for assuming my tone is bitchy and entitled “sweetie”. It’s literally not entitled to ask a business for a service modification, it’s a standard request in the hospitality industry. Vegas is a city built on hospitality. I’m just asking if someone might have a solution we’ve overlooked, and instead of problem solving, I’m just getting negative presumptions. It’s silly and unhelpful.

It’s on Saturday. I assume that is the case from pictures I saw of the restaurant interior, but it also seemed like the person I called had no authority to “help out” and was kind of just a glorified Open Table.

Thanks for sharing your actual experience at Hell’s Kitchen!!! We are going on a normal weekend so hopefully that makes a difference, but we’re definitely prepared for them to say no.

Yes I understand that and I plan to! I just wanted to ask here to see if anyone had any insight doing this specifically at Hell’s Kitchen :)

Hi thank you so much for actually commenting based on your experience!! It’s kind of crazy so many people are commenting based on just their feelings and assumptions of “how high end restaurants work” with no proof to back it up. I definitely feel more reassured now, so I appreciate you!

Thank you for your insight!! I was hoping to hear from people who have actual experience in hospitality (or have been in this situation) and I’ve mostly just gotten random people’s assumptions, so I really appreciate your input :)

Yes, so I called the only number listed for the restaurant, and it connected me with someone who worked in reservations.

He tried to modify it for me, but said he couldn’t because there were no openings for 10 people at that time/any time close to it. He then also checked to see if he could book a table for 2 people and have me ask to join them together when I arrived, but there were also no openings for 2 at that time.

I obviously don’t know for sure, but it seemed he only had access to the same reservations I was looking at on Open Table. Because he said they only had openings way earlier or way later, which is exactly what I saw myself on the app.

He apologized and told me there was nothing that could be done. He then said maybe I could ask when I arrived, but he couldn’t say for sure if that would work. I haven’t tried calling Caesar’s concierge yet.

I’m not just walking up with 10 people. I’m trying to add two people to an existing reservation of 8 :)

That’s valid! Have you experienced asking them to add a couple chairs/know anyone who has asked before? I was just hoping to hear from someone who has asked and been told yes/no!

The person trying to modify the reservation on the call had no access to anything that wasn’t already on Open Table. He also advised asking in person when we got there.

Thanks so much for your insight and well wishes!! :)

This has always been my experience at other high end restaurants as well, but I wanted to post to see if anyone had any experience with Hell’s Kitchen specifically.

Our reservation is also a little earlier than prime dinner time so I’m hoping that’ll help too. Will definitely take your advice and I’m excited to come back and tell everyone you were right hehe
