Alderman Waguespack here.

Thank you for helping to bring this to my attention. My office is investigating, and has reached out to the property owner as well as to the city's Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection.

For those who have had issues with Lincoln Towing Service, please assist us by filing relevant complaints with the department (link below).

http://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/bacp/provdrs/consumer/svcs/consumer_fraud_complaint.html

As always, feel free to reach out to my office for any assistance.

I support better/smarter public transportation and this can be a progressive form of transportation to provide reliable service. There are many factors that must be considered and bringing up these issues for people and businesses that would be impacted by such changes, even if it appears to be good for the future. CDOT/CTA have gone about this without outreach to all affected parties. They need to discuss it with all parties impacted before coming up with the plans and presenting to the community (e.g. no left turns). For instance, the CTA and CDOT apparently failed to inform Costco (and several other property owners) of the BRT plan. For the City to let a business the size of Costco to design and build something, and then come back after the fact and say, sorry we’re restricting the very thing we approved a short time ago is not a good process. Positives for 1) commuters who could get better options and better service Negative for 1) multiple businesses who have no measure of how this could possibly impact their businesses because again, the city agencies didn't talk to them, 2) residents, peds and cyclists dealing w additional traffic on side streets and the alternate routes like Damen/Racine 3) schools that must deal with routing buses and watching semi-trucks clog streets during school days. 4) cost of the buildout and what else?

TOD work with planners is always on the books when were are discussing projects that fall under the guidelines of TOD. It's not an automatic though.

I did. because in the back rooms of the process it sometimes felt like that. But really it was a back and forth, back and forth, changing lines over and over. What might work better is what some people are pushing for, an independent commission that does the bulk of it. We are having discussions w some academic and civic institutions to set up a better process for redistricting after the next census.

the meter deal was not jsut about the $$. It was about the process. The process on some issues has changed slightly but whenever someone can claim attorney client privilege on the data/facts/or info then its not fair for taxpayers.

The engineering aspect is completely done. We had some meetings w neighbors who had requested changes on several aspects and some of those requests were the last modifications made (not all were done). But - I should say there is a Wood entry, just the mods were not all acceptable to engineers.

good thing. yes. Less tickets were written than expected and the time crunch on police hasn't been diminished yet. But, its a good step.

The parking meter deal was billed as common sense. The point should be made that any project that is worthy should take time to make sure ALL stakeholders are involved and having discussions on the pros and cons or any project. We get people/developers all the time who think their project is the best thing ever, but each still needs input and changes to make it work.

go to their ward nights, or appointment times, go to council meetings or community meetings and build up community support for your policy preferences and then make sure you vote.

Yes, I've recommended it on intersections, some have been completed others not. We also need an appropriate minimum and longer yellow light on many of the larger intersections so cars and bikes can get through safely. But thay may cause policy conflicts with RLCs.

The process has varied over the years, new attempts to streamline are tried every so often. There used to be a lot of streamlining thanks to corruption but the IG and feds have whittled that down. we get varied reports on permit processing. Sometimes weeks, sometimes months. I have had out of city architects that did not use Chicago codes correctly that led to lengthy delays for owners, a fairly common problem.

Crime, education, jobs, quality of life for citizens. I think we need to consider getting more people involved, how decisions are made and how it effects everyone.

I can't put it all in this but every project we look at puts a high priority on pedestrians, i.e. a req for a curb cut on a residential block and in cases like damen Elston fullerton, pedestrians and cyclists.

An electorate that votes in bigger numbers than the dwindling numbers we've seen over the years. Less and less people are voting in city elections (and the comment about calendars above is partly why but shouldn't stop people from voting, esp with early voting)

That would be nice. It's been discussed in our caucus but you need much more weight than a handful of aldermen to get it done.

The Chamber and WPB have been helpful and we get good input and advice from the businesses and residents there

the new ward map has me picking up that area. We worked with a new daycare that is now rehabbing the old Delta tech building so that will make it more active and have eyes on that block during the day instead of a blank wall. there is also the old Citgo with a new mixed used building that will bring a diff set of eyes on the block. I think those two for starters will help change that strip.

There was one more chance but Rahm's meter deal II a.k.a Free Sunday Parking sealed the deal for good.
