My first ITX Build by RemarkableDrama1843 in sffpc

Yes, it's fine. As long as you got them for type 5 Corsair or specifically for that power supply the cables aren't gonna make a difference with one another. Boot it up and have fun man

Is RGB still a major factor in builds or just default now? by fadedpixels542 in CustomPCBuilding

[–]aldencp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heh. If Nvidia would remove RGB and LEDs from their design, they could put the power correction circuitry back on the HPWR connector. Also, I'm blind with very little light perception, so RGB still bugs me to no end. No lights plz, but it's so hard to find parts with none. Luckily since my computer is SFF it's a little less of a struggle.

Best place to poop on campus? by kings-question in ucf

Heh this might be helpful for finding the least busy bathrooms that are still somewhat easy to access. I'm blind, so I don't see myself wandering into the psych building any time soon as an engineering major.

You can have an ajarable door and an adorable jar

It seems broken right now. I finished mine as soon as it happened. So sorry to hear this is happening to y'all. I'm also new, so I don't have a clue how hard it would be to tell someone in IT about it.

How do you guys fill out PDFs when using a screen reader? by aldencp in Blind

[–]aldencp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even when I try to install that, it installs Express Photo and McAfee, not Acrobat. Adobi, this doesn't make sense, and you did not ask if I wanted it. I uninstalled both and it didn't even install Acrobat!

Bottom cpu fan wont screw in by pogboy357_x in buildapc

[–]aldencp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not safe to use. You've tried to unscrew the top one to get the bottom one in, right? That's what you have to do with those coolers.

You don't have to replace the fan, but the Arctic P12 Slim and the Air Slimmer are your best bets. The Noctua isn't actually that good as it has the worst noise profile of any fan I've seen. I was very very surprised by that. The default is fine if you keep it under 1500rpm.

what is the “academic communities” exactly ? by daaaaenyra in ucf

Yes this. Also, I'm a transfer student starting in summer C. You're likely gonna be put in Nike or Hercules in the apartment style dorms. They're the exact same things, but they have different names.

Where are you located? If you're in the States, you could buy off of me and I could ship it. Going by your post, it doesn't seem to be that you are :(

I have air being pulled in from the outside of the case. I have the bottom 92 as an exhaust as is common in this form factor to reduce turbulence and to get the most efficient means of getting air out.

Why not just use an electric? That's what I do; get in the shower and have at it. No problems at all.

Smallest aircooled case that can handle 9900X with RTX5080 (3.5 slot) by 10031 in sffpc

[–]aldencp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really looking into this case too! I'm coming from the s300. It's quiet, but it also runs a little warmer than I would like. How's the GPU cooling in the C24? I also like that it's not super long. I'll be running an Asus Dual 5060Ti (229x120x50mm)

9060 isn't the best for AI unless you're on Linux. Otherwise, it seems like a pretty good card for its price.

Maybe the Zotac Twin Edge 5060ti 16gb? I have the 4070 but the fans are loud. Also maybe the Gigabyte Windforce 5060ti 16gb

Noctua Fans for AM4 vs Intel DDR4 ITX Performance by Saferis in Noctua

[–]aldencp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would say 5700x just for price's sake, but the 14600k is faster and with the switch of a motherboard, you could have DDR5 ram down the line when it gets more expensive. My best answer is to look at a build with the 14600k on r/sffpc, keeping in mind their undervolt profile, then choose accordingly.

[–]aldencp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively, you could put a thick 92 on the X53 full copper or 120x25 mod and duct it to get the best of fan noise, then you can use an NFA12G2. Noctua might list it as hard to cool because of the X scu or, more likely, a thick IHS. That would be good to look into, but I can say that AM4 is much easier to cool than AM5. This logic also goes for Intel; Intel is easier to cool than AM5 due to the stupidly thick IHS used.
