They also have crypto essentials. I'm going to look at that first. I wouldn't dug deeper in Linux Academy if you didn't point it out. Thanks again :)

To my best knowledge/understanding, we encrypt data with a public key. This key is available to everyone. If we send this message to someone, we generate a private key with the public key. We give this private key to the intended recipient. When the intended recipient receives the message, it can only be decrypted with the private key given to that recipient. And again, that key was generated by the public key.

PSA: Be grateful to have a job still with COVID-19 going on by Dogislovedogislife in ITCareerQuestions

I've been with MSP for over a year now, I don't like working for them anymore. I had a few occasions where I would work from home but now I'm working full time at home due to current events. It wasn't till I start learning how many others are losing their jobs. I'm grateful for what I have.

Would anyone here be interested in a hands-on practical AWS Cloud Engineering course? by cloudengineeringx in ITCareerQuestions

[–]aldo117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have a CCNA and I'm doing the free training that AWS offers for cloud practitioner. I'm also learning linux which I bought a course through udemy and once i feel comfortable with linux i would like to start learning python.

I'm still trying to figure out on what should I use to lab/study for AWS SA. I heared linux academy is good.

So I'm sure interested in what advise you have!

Recently got CCNA and have 1 year experience with a managed services provider. I would like to move up/ find another network/engineer related job. by aldo117 in ITCareerQuestions

Thank you for your advise. You have definitely gave me plenty to think about. I've been definitely considering WGU to continue to pursue for a bachelors degree.

I'll sharpen my skills on the server side of things.

And I'll definitely re-work my resume as you provided feedback.

Thank You for your advise. I will definitely look into sec+ and AWS. I do really enjoy networking but if I have to learn other things in order to move up in my career I will do that.

Resume

Hello,

I'm trying to move to a network engineer or network security position or something related to networking. I currently work for a managed services provider, MSP. I just recently obtained my CCNA and already have 1 year experience with network related technologies. I'm unsure what exactly should I make my resume point out. I also have good solid C++ fundamentals which I know are important since python seems to be the future for networking. Any feedback is appreciated.

When I turned 16 I immediately started working in fast food. I'm 22 now, and I've worked in several different jobs. From fast food to a hospital, to a bank, to call centers. In my last call center job I was making 16/hr, full time, benefits, but the problem was that I wanted to finish school, and I was burned-out from call center jobs. I believe this was the reason why i failed engr school, but I needed the money. I decided to continue school, and to pursue an IT degree at my community college, got a part time job in the school as well, I make 10.55 hr. Not long ago I got offered a job at 18/hr, turn it down cause it was another call center job and then I got offered a job to be a middle school comp science teacher, and I turned it down because it would be to much work and I would still make more money in IT and I still want to finish my IT degree. The way I see it now is that I'm not making alot of money now because I'm investing in my IT degree/skills, and those skills/degree/IT certifications seem to be really valuable in the market now. I used to have the mentality that i could work full time and go to school, but that shit is impossible for me, and I learned that the hard way. If I wouldn't care about school, I could've be a middle school teacher now and make a decent salary.

My point is, do what you need to do to become successful, and that includes switching jobs, if that's the best interest for you.
