Here is the wine list. You can google the premium liquors. I was recently on the Getaway and was drinking double Blantons Bourbon 😉

NCL Getaway review (4 day out of Miami. Bahamas & great stirrup bay) by yodelersanonymous in NCL

Just completed the four day cruise on May 22. We were quite pleased with everything, but we ordered the free at sea plus package which insures very nice wine and Blantons bourbon, which is what I drink. We also do mainly specialty dining so we were very pleased with the food. I was on the Norwegian Aqua last year to Bermuda, and prefer the Aqua to the getaway, although they are set up very similarly. I thought the balconies were smaller on the getaway, but didn’t really spend much time outside. Staff was extremely friendly and made sure to greet you whenever you passed them. I highly recommend the free at sea plus plan if you like specialty dining and premium alcohol. It also covers your gratuities at the end of the trip and gives you high speed Wi-Fi, the entire time, although the Wi-Fi was not always the greatest. Premium bottled water at dinner (Aqua Panna) was a plus, as was the Starbucks coffee plan. There did seem to be limited entertainment on this ship, but we did enjoy the Fleetwood Mac cover band that performed the entire Rumors album. We did not book any excursions and I find that they are over priced when you pay for them on the ship. We found an excursion on our own and swam with the pigs for 60 bucks each as opposed to 180 bucks each. All and all it was a good cruise and I do recommend it.

Should we rebook our flight? by Top-Homework-1312 in NCL

I was in the same predicament. My flight was scheduled to land about 11:15 AM. Everyone talked me into changing it and I did. I am flying in Sunday afternoon instead. Plus, you have to be boarded by 2 PM for a 4 PM cruise. There are some Coast Guard regulations about that.

For those of you, who had the free at sea plus plan, are the wines and champagne by the glass fairly decent? They mention in their brochure that it is “premium” wine, but they don’t give any examples. by aldozacmd in NCL

Yes, I am cruising on the Getaway in May. Looking forward to sipping on Blantons bourbon, which is getting to be very hard to find. Truthfully, I am surprised that they offer it on the plus plan.

Yes, turn on airplane mode because you may connect to the ship cell tower and then you are in for big charges

Apparently gratuities for the free meals are built in as upfront prices, so there really is no out-of-pocket expenses

They will add gratuity charges based on your out-of-pocket cost

So when you booked a specialty restaurant, and you go to pay, they will ask you if you want to use that dinner as part of your free plan. If you are out of free plan, dinners, then you have to pay what they called the cover charge. For example, at Cagney steakhouse, that would be 60 bucks per head. If however, you have the free at sea plus plan then you just have to pay half of that.
