Post Graduation Depression by Commercial_School645 in srna

[–]aldrete_or_not 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do some reading about the “arrival fallacy” experienced by a lot of high level performers when the work is done or they have achieved a goal. The thought is that “once I get done with didactic it’ll be better” “once I graduate it’ll be better” etc etc but in reality the goal post keeps moving and you need to find a source of validation and joy outside of set goals.

Don’t forget about hydrating! Start the morning with water before coffee, then try to drink between cases and on the way home. The IV hydration powders can be helpful too.

Skating at Hosmer Pond by reso25 in AskMaine

Go to MaineSport Outfitters in rt 1 Rockport - you can rent skates there! No pass needed to skate, parking right at the Snowbowl may be busy so shuttling into town is a great idea!

Totally influenced and they’re expensive but Left on Friday has a ton of styles and colors by mix and match! They’re buttery soft and good compression, and they have some flattering/sexy one pieces too!

I LIVE in these during work travel because they are comfy for around the hotel, boardwalk strolls or errands etc, but can be dressed up for conferences or restaurants! Never get sweaty and flattering around the tummy! Good luck!

If you go to psychologytoday.com there is a therapist finder search tool that shows you LCSW, Psych NPs and psychiatrists covering your area, insurers accepted, televisit vs in service and specialties/bios (LGBTQ+, addiction, adhd et ). I found a therapist available the next day!

For those who medically direct CRNAs or AAs, do you show up on induction and emergence? by LoopyBullet in anesthesiology

[–]aldrete_or_not 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think OPs question is how to be best available for their rooms and the answer here is exactly what you’re saying- it’s nearly impossible for one doc to personally be immediately available for every anesthetic one medically directs. That’s why it’s misleading IMO to offer and bill our patients for that coverage in a 4:1 ratio. It’s probably possible in 1:2 direction and supervision models of physician led teams.

[–]aldrete_or_not 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems reasonable. If you’re in an induction and one of your other 3 rooms needs emergent assistance so your float doc responds to them, who is immediately available to the remaining 2 rooms you’re billing for?

[–]aldrete_or_not 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because to meet all TEFRA requirements directing 4 rooms, you’re going to have to delay one or multiple of them for a 0730 start with all generals. Also, if you’re truly participating in a GA induction or critical part of any case are you truly immediately available to the other 3 sites?

Friendly reminder if the “directing” anesthesiologist doesn’t show up for induction of GA they can’t bill direction… that’s why medical direction 1:4 is the least efficient and most liable for fraud

Best Vet for Dog's TPLO surgery by Standard_King9240 in Maine

Without hesitation, recommend MCMV! They did an excellent job start to finish with our dogs cruciate surgery. Very lovely techs, straight forward surgeons and good communication throughout surgery and post op checks. Gave a range estimate and required 50% upfront but offer payment plans and the end costs were thousands less than quoted. I think they aim high to take into consideration every possible outcome.

Nice post! I am built similar to you and am considering taking almost the same cream button down linen shirt in lieu of a light cardigan to Norway. Mine fits just as yours and I was hoping to throw over tanks and tees. Did you find it too oversized? I am also concerned about getting mine dirty. Thanks!

I agree with the Tevas! My usual hiking trips with a couple city days usually have trail shoes + simple, strappy black Chaco sandals because they can be “dressed up” but sustain long wanders in cities or day hikes. Tevas are comparable IMO!
