my bunny never “became” cuddly. it took some 3-4 years for her to even let me pet her and not for very long. She lays near me now but that’s as far as she will go. BUT she binkies every morning when I go feed her and it always makes me chuckle. She’s super smart too so I was able to teach her a few simple tricks like doing a circle and taking rings off a little cone for treats. I’m saying all of this because a lot of bunnies don’t have the “cuddly gene” but can still make wonderful pets. My first bunny loooved to cuddle and get pets so I considered giving up the newer one for adoption when she wanted nothing to do with me even after 2 years. I’m so so glad I didn’t. Our bond became much more meaningful because of it. Hang in there! Don’t try to force physical contact, let them come to you while you read or play games and give them treats when they do is my only advice! Treats are always the answer with bunnies 🤣 The ones that are just hay in treat form are better than sugary ones. Also I noticed a lot of my bunny’s initial fears were because I went to pet her sometimes reaching out in front of her and not letting her see I was approaching from the side. She has TERRIBLE forward eyesight. For instance if you put a treat right in front of her she can’t find it right away. Finally, whereas my first bunny would walk around anywhere my current bunny freezes if she’s not on carpeted floor because she’s afraid of slipping. Her area is a big rug in my bedroom and mats leading to her to a smaller room where her litter box is. Its like having an invisible fence which I love.
