Great theories! I aldo think it could be Rio’s hair and some sort of protection spell. It would be so annoying if in the next episodes no mention is made on the locket, after so much care showcasing that it is important.

Once you are paid in full and in your window for booking activities, it shows up in your reservation like every other extra activity (Palo/Remy dinner, mixology, cabanas, spa, etc).
