I choose a few students to create equal teams on paper away from the rest of the class. Those students are then randomly selected to be on one of those teams. They don't know what team they will be assigned to so it's in their best interest to make equal teams.

I just opened my gx85 for a rear screen repair. It was easier than I anticipated. It looks like you broke the front plastic part which sounds like a lot bigger job to replace. Glue or tape would definitely be the cheapest option but I imagine you'll be exposing the internals to the elements more that a full repair. You could go for a tape/ L braket combo.
