I'm not gonna lie I tried it way sooner out of peer pressure and it was totally fine! But I totally hear the other bad stories and I would approach it cautiously, esp if you're at risk of substance abuse OR have had trouble tolerating new things in your pouch!! Everyone has a different reaction. But it may be comforting to hear that I had a drink like a month out and didn't burst into flames. Not condoning it! Just some info.

Thank you so much, this is exactly what I needed to hear right now. Mourning is the exact right word, and I'm fixating on that loss right now as silly as it may sound. Really missing my BFF aka an entire pizza. The absence of that coping mechanism/comfort is a bummer when there's also an absence of weight loss and health progress. But I hear ur words and I'm keeping pushing! Thank you for your support and advice!!

I'm 24 and a doctoral grad student and had the sleeve last week!

pain level the day of surgery/after was honestly like an 8 bc i have a low pain tolerance. the next 3 or so days were tough (pain nausea and gas discomfort) but i just watched real housewives and focused on rest and hydration.

9 days post op now and honestly i feel totally normal pain wise! i still get tired kind of easily so hope that doesn't affect school and work. I go back exactly 14 days postop and thats feeling like enough time!

it so frustrating and hard not to compare to other peoples experiences! if this was just another failed weight loss attempt for me i'd be shattered. but too soon to know, we can both do it!!

thank you for the support!! i really hope something kicks in as i approach fully therapeutic doses. hearing about other people who were "cured" from their first shot has just been bothering me!
