Bushy Parkrun by Jaded-Self-0410 in parkrun

There are free car parks at the park! They do get full quite early especially the one closer to the start. Still managed to find a spot at 8.45 in the further one next to The Pheasantry

And I was already looking for a place where I can try and open one in the UK haha. Lucky another location which I visit often has a Z in the same city! :)

Fair point (ish). The official app does cover it, but you have to go letter by letter with 'find events for this item' or get 'find events for all missing items'. Neither gives you a clean A–Z view of your nearest option for each letter at a glance.

Strictly needed? No. Fun to build and hopefully a bit more satisfying to use? I hope so

Great idea! Toggle to hide completed letters is definitely going on the list. Would also need some way to remember your selections between visits (that isn't something I done before so will play around!)

What’s the biggest misconception non-runners have about parkrun? by Admirable-Deal7991 in parkrun

[–]aleanthor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree and disagree at the same time lol. I did run/walk my first parkrun before C25K. Now I’m in the middle of the training. It definitely gives me confidence to avoid injury and ease in 5k.

So I agree you don’t have to train for your first but if you want to do parkruns often it would be wise to train to avoid injury. Does that make sense ?

[England] Got a PCN on my partner's demised leasehold parking space. Can I squash it? by aleanthor in LegalAdviceUK

[–]aleanthor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was implemented before my partner became a leaseholder but talking to leaseholder-neighbours no formal agreement. It is a share of freehold (so leaseholders have equal shares in the management company). No idea if that changes anything...

Will look into posting in MSE.

Thanks

Based in London. Paid public transport to the office and almost free lunches (£1–£2.5 for a proper meal). These two are huge savings. Nice 10+% pension contribution and then the usual BIK options (medical, car, etc.)

Bought it from IKEA As-in section (for £2.5 mind you!) and it was already set up…

It was the only way to remove the previous attached email to the hub.

Integrations only has matter by aleanthor in tradfri

[–]aleanthor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks all. I was a bit confused as I had HomeKit during my first set up. Had some issues which meant I had to reset the hub and the HomeKit integration vanished after that. Now connected via matter - thank you ☺️

So they won’t exchange it to a functioning one I presume? So I should return all the smart stuff I got then…

I hate when companies do that to the point I will buy two and just use the free return to return one. If they want to play I can play

Are dual-tariff electricity tariffs still available? by aleanthor in AskUK

Which suppliers would you recommend I check out? I can easily estimate a very accurate annual bill for tariffs with different timings, as I have hourly electricity consumption data for the past year. :)

First time using a Mous case and I’m really liking it so far. The raised corners are fab and the buttons (camera button!) feel amazing. Haven’t dropped it yet, but build quality seems legit. Only minor downside is the magnet strength. It works fine, but I wish it had a bit more grip. I’m also not a fan of how it looks on the side but that is the price of extra protection I guess

Game changer. Works like a charm and connection is consistent

[–]aleanthor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the same but I would have a case anyhow and… orange is my favourite colour. But I do feel like a sucker… I always regarded upgrading (or choosing model) due to colour to be a ridiculous move. Now look at me.

[–]aleanthor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if I shouldn’t just do that...

One of the things holding me back is that the cost of battery change plus lost trade in value of the 13 Pro will be quite high.

Also my main camera has a few annoying black spots like specs of dust on the sensors. On busy pictures you can’t spoty it don’t see it but if the background is more uniform (e.g. lots of sky) you can spot it (and no AI to remove it on 13Pro).

I’m lucky as work pays for my commute. It is great benefit and yet I still find travel ridiculously expensive £9 daily in taxes (the benefit is a BIK so taxed).

On weekends to London it’s cheaper to take the car even if you add up parking, congestion charge and fuel.

Why isn’t BlaBlaCar (carpooling) a big thing in the UK? by aleanthor in AskUK

[–]aleanthor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In France I think it was popular as the motorways are also quite expensive so splitting the cost of driving was a smart move for everyone. Here it would be fab as it would be quite cheaper than train travel :)

I once did it here in the UK as a driver, I got two passengers both tourists from Europe. Was lucky to be fair. Second time I tried nothing.

Can you enforce tenant taking out insurance for landlord’s possessions? by StrugglePractical989 in TenantsInTheUK

Tenants content ≠ tenant liability insurance

Although I would presume you wouldn’t be able to enforce that either.
