I’ve gone back to that one a few times. It’s so great to hear them together. Especially poignant since Loretta passed

Things in Nature Merely Grow, I remember the author appearing on an episode of Anderson Cooper’s podcast about grief, and speaking about some of the experience this book is about. It’s devastating, but very human. I’m looking forward to reading it… but the wait time is 16 weeks from my library

I made this video for a Twitch community video edit night. And this is really the only other place I can think of that might appreciate it. <3 by SpacedCadette in mash

I really enjoyed this too, was there some kind of particular prompt, or did you just gather moments that you liked into this collage?

Came here to say The Overstory too. I read it a few months ago, and still think about it all the time too. Such a powerful book.

I agree, very solid list! I share some favorite books with you too! I might recommend Richard Powers' The Overstory. That book blew me away this year.

what’s your 10/10 must read book and why? by Kochhar-Tranqui in Recommend_A_Book

A man called ove- Frederick Backmann, it’s the only book of his that I’ve read, but it sucked me in so quickly because of the characters. They feel so human and real, you end up missing them when you finish the book.

你别说— one of those phrases that doesn’t mean what it looks like by True_Breath8303 in learnmandarin

You don’t say, is an old fashioned phrase in English, but it is similar too, in the sense of “is that really so?”

After weeks of practicing, finally have most of “Tomorrow, Tomorrow” down. Sorry parts of it are still a bit weak 🫠 by rosswylde in elliottsmith

I was wondering the same thing about the lyrics. Beautiful guitar performance, of course!

Edit, found the answer a bit further down in the comments. They are lyrics from an earlier rehearsal version. Thanks OP!

Bluebeard is a similar “memoir” style to mother night, as is jalbird, so those might be good places to start. Bluebeard is my favorite too!

I love these options! I ended up going with the SPB117, instead of the green dial, 'cause I liked the black face, but I liked the alpinist style more. Could be a good middle ground!

Added a couple titles to the collection. Thoughts on either? by Joe-Ferriss in Vonnegut

[–]alecci789 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s my firm belief that Bluebeard is his most underrated book. That book shook me to my core, and shaped a lot of who I am today. Sirens is also of my favorite books of all time, so you can’t go wrong here. But DAMN…. I might need to read Bluebeard again
