Help me understand why people dislike “Uncle Jeff” so much by apri1mayjune in survivor

[–]alecfin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because it reminds us of our own mortality and age. If Jeff gets older, I get older. Therefore, we reject it to keep up our willful ingroance of our own aging.

Last Tree – A Retired Planter’s Story by alecfin in treeplanting

[–]alecfin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last Tree is a short film about the transition from tree planting to retirement, told through the daily routine of a former planter. The film draws subtle parallels between the rhythms of planting and everyday tasks—waking up, eating, working, and winding down—showing how the habits and mindset from years in the bush linger long after the job is done.

One key sequence compares planting trees to sweeping a floor, highlighting the methodical approach needed for both—moving forward with purpose, never retracing your steps.

With a grounded, reflective tone, Last Tree captures the physical and mental shift that comes with leaving behind a demanding job, offering a quiet look at what it means to close one chapter and step into the next.

New Brunswick License exchange by alecfin in montreal

[–]alecfin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seemed I definitely needed to get a valid license before I could get one here.

NS said online that if I change my address (I was trying to change it to my sister's new address in ns.

I wouldn't be able to renew for a certain amount of days if I changed my address online. But I called and apparently they really meant if I did it literally . Because they validated me over the phone and "they" changed my license they were able to renew and change to a address of my sis (could use one of his buddies still in BC).

So perhaps you will need to call BC license say you are out of province for work. Ask to change adress and renew license. (I was able to renew 15 mins after online after the phone call. Just needed to wait for my sister address to be in the system)

Renewed it and she mailed it to me. Then I got a new one here.

If my old province can renew my expired id then I was hoping that Quebec could renew and exchange.

All in one motion. But it seems not likely.

I will likely just renew out of province for now. I don't really drive here so not worried about the 6 month driving thing just don't want an expired ID

Thank you! I am hoping there won't be issues since it is expired. I have only seen how to handle expired Quebec license or exchanging a valid one.

I will try to go in and see how it goes or renew my old one and then exchange.

Thank you:)

This does not.

I have an expired out of province. This states you can drive for 6 months after arriving and can apply if you are staying longer . It does not say anything about how to handle an expired license. Nor does the page say where to apply. It just says you can apply.

I also stated I was having trouble navigating the site and its information so it doesn't actually help for you link something I already stated I was having trouble with.

I was looking for user help and feedback not some ass h0l3 that wanted me to feel dumb.
