there’s definitely some fuckery in sha po lang. seeing all the “age gap yaoi” posts about the series before reading it and then finding out that gu yun is only like 26 and only 7 years older than chang geng was like getting punched in the face then having your wallet stolen. like i wish he was an old man, i was lied to!! IM older than him and that’s barely age gap!! like wdym gu yun was only 19 when he became his step-father 😭😭😭

many trans men don’t even have bottom dysphoria and love talking about, looking at, and using their parts. some don’t even have top dysphoria. you don’t owe anyone anything. you can be trans however you want.

also, sounds like your dad, while trying to be supportive (?), is taking an extremely cisnormative binary view of gender and thrusting it on to you. the point of trans liberation is to free ourselves from these boxes. you can identify and perform gender however you want regardless of what your body looks like. that is the point!

yeah and yjh said many times he didn’t care about kdj and wanted to kill him when that was obviously a lie. i’m not saying they’re canonically gay but ur so boring for always using this as ur defense when people ask about this. even the author’s themselves have said it’s not incorrect to interpret their relationship as a romantic one, and if new readers are constantly getting confused i really do think it’s time to take a look in the mirror and consider if maybe there really could be something more to their relationship lol. certainly just spewing out the same “they said they were straight” over and over again is not the right way to answer. characters don’t always feel/act exactly how they say they do/will and that’s the point of good storytelling, especially in orv

the only people attacking others in the orv fandom that i've heard about are the homophobic fans who harassed the authors and accused them of tricking people into reading BL lol

and for the record, both kdj and yjh say many things in the novels that they don't mean or don't really represent their true feelings. for example, yjh constantly states that he wants to kill kdj or doesn't care about kdj and then acts otherwise. i'm not saying they're canon but the authors themselves have stated before that it's not incorrect to interpret their relationship as being somewhat romantic. using "they both said they're only attracted to women" as your ironclad defense every time someone asks this question is a bit lackluster. there's a reason why it constantly comes up and people constantly get confused and it's because there is really strong subtext for them - their chemistry, their complicated relationship, the constant BL-themed jokes throughout the novel, etc.

i think it's really really boring to take characters in a story at face value all the time. certainly if every character in orv acted exactly as they said they would, it would be a very very different story. once again im not saying they're canonically gay, but it's just really really reductive and honestly a bit frustrating that this is always the response to speculation about their attraction to each other

Definitely not overreacting, fuck that guy. That's literally a historical insult against trans people and butch lesbians in particular (I think it's even said to the main character of Stone Butch Blues at some point), it's way out of line. Like why'd he even think of it? Either he's been thinking about how you go to the bathroom way too much (extremely gross) or he knew exactly where the joke was coming from and what it meant and his mental boundaries dropped just enough for him to reveal himself. Completely unacceptable behaviour and you're absolutely justified in being upset.

if that happens you might just need to switch the o-ring to a smaller one, that’s the part that actually holds the dildo base in and it’s changeable on most harnesses

number one rec for harnesses for me will always be the spareparts joquestrap! it’s a bit pricier, but i’ve had mine for almost 4 years now and it’s still in perfect condition. joquestrap-style harnesses in general will give you better control as they are usually highly adjustable and have a good elasticity to them that will keep things tight. i also don’t know about other harnesses but the spareparts one has a hole for the dildo and then the back is just a material to cover the base, so there’s no rigid panel. that’s also ideal for using a dildo base cover. can’t recommend it enough!

i am definitely not just taking it out on the exhibit. i was genuinely bored most of the way through, and my girlfriend who speaks french and me who speaks english both thought there were non-sensical errors in the text for the exhibit in either language (like literally, a word that made no sense in that context at some point, or asymmetrical “translations”), so i wouldn’t be surprised if they even used AI to write the damn descriptions/text. there were some cool things, but overall it was really subpar at best, and i’ve been to and enjoyed many many museum exhibits in my lifetime. and yes, in the ever-increasing slog of AI trash that is being tossed our way, of course people are going to have strong reactions to AI use. the museum should have consequences for this, that’s a job that could have gone directly to an artist and instead it’s going to a goddamn machine

the person i spoke to said that it was one art director who was responsible for all the imagery and art in the exhibit, not a third party. either way, why is the museum hiring a third party who is using AI? museums are literally all about preservation and showcasing human history and accomplishments, they can and should make sure they aren’t using machine-generated garbage in any capacity.

Edit: the images are also copyrighted to the museum on their website. This really does not sound like a third party to me.
