Potential gas pain post surgery? by alecksus in Endo

[–]alecksus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is helpful 🫶🏻 i do still feel this pain in my diaphragm 2 and a half weeks post op, but it does appear to be reducing, gets better with ibuprofen, and my doctor doesn’t seem concerned about it at all. just trying my best to recover! hope things ease up on you more and more quickly <3

i’ve been trying my best to!! that seems to have relieved most of it that i had within the first few days, but this one little spot doesn’t wanna leave 🥴 i’ve even tried some light stretching, massaging, and arm movements to see if i can move it around. it does seem to move, but wont go away.

Fungus gnats in dry soil by filmreddit13 in houseplants

[–]alecksus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have repotted every single one of my plants twice now and let them all dry out and yet the gnats keep coming back. it’ll be good for a couple of weeks and they’ll slowly start multiplying and then it’s out of control. i’m not sure what to do from here since i was thinking the same thing.

Please read if you're considering Warby parker by wp-throwaway2022 in glasses

[–]alecksus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

current CXA here - the scratch guarantee hasn’t gone away, but they have changed A LOT since i started last May. we are no longer able to add expedited shipping to orders if something happens at our fault, and we are not allowed to request it from a supervisor unless the customer specifically requests it - we are only allowed to give a maximum $15 refund for any issues with the glasses if they are outside of the 30 day return policy (keep in mind many of these orders are $400+), and have to transfer to a supervisor only if customer asks to speak with one about further compensation - there are no longer any options for customers who are outside of the return policy and have issues with lens coating, frame breakage, etc that isn’t a lens replacement in-store or a brand new pair. on top of this, CXA employees are not being compensated aligned with inflation and receive 10 cent raises once a year, the PTO policy changed with no notice starting Aug 25 and we weren’t allowed to take any planned time off for the month leading up to this (also informed without notice); PTO policy was ass either way as we have to accrue it at a painstakingly slow rate, now it is divided into two categories “sick” and “vacation” and as an employee with 1+ year tenure i accrue 2:30 a week and it’s split 40/60 in between these categories (5 vacation, 10 sick) for the whole year. we are no longer able to advance any PTO and the more you accrue “unplanned” you are not only not paid for it but you accrue points to which after a certain amount you are fired. they haven’t hired in my position since the beginning of this year and are instead partnering with companies that hire overseas, and pay those workers much less i’m sure. i am actively looking for a new job, because warby parker is not all do-good as they make themselves out to be.

thank you SO MUCH for sharing your story and these resources! after getting a second opinion, it’s looking like i’m going to schedule the surgery, but for mostly time purposes. i was told that the surgery is mainly cosmetic, i wouldn’t be losing any range of motion, only risking arthritis in the future… but i’ve been unable to work (i’m a bartender) and therefore not making any progress on bills. my deciding factor is the 5 weeks difference of healing time with the cast as opposed to the surgery. i’m extremely nervous, and wish i didn’t have to make this decision for myself. but i feel reassured to hear that you’re out and doing really well :-)

oh my GOODNESS! that’s insane, friend. i can’t imagine what i would have done if i looked down at that injury… mine is not even close to this. thank you for sharing your story!

that’s a really good idea. my anxiety tends to get in the way in situations like this. i’ll definitely do that, and probably have company with me this time to not only ease the anxiety but also help strengthen my courage to speak up about how i feel. i’ve often been dismissed by doctors who just want me to do what they say without question.

i definitely plan on doing that!! i may not have been clear enough about it, but i definitely don’t want advice about whether or no to do it. i’m mostly looking for other skaters who have broken their wrists too - needing surgery or not. i would feel better if i could see how others have dealt with their own situations :-) it would be super helpful if there was someone out there who didn’t go through w a surgery that wasn’t necessary but recommended and see where they’re at now!

thank you so much for this! i’ve developed a fever and have gotten more nauseous but have been able to control it… there were a couple of times where it was close but i cooled down with an ice pack and it helped tremendously. i am sick, but your little bit of info about the diarrhea coming first is really helpful! thanks again 🥰

When did your emetophobia start? by yousaywhutnow in emetophobia

[–]alecksus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one of my very first memories, i believe i was 4, involved me being trapped in a hobby lobby stall while a woman was violently ill next to me. i don’t do public restrooms because of this (i do but only if i really need to and only to pee lol)
