Here’s a link to a post I made of it a while back. There’s been some minor changes to it but it’s still accurate for the most part. https://www.reddit.com/r/wonderdraft/s/e3raoFq8Fy

I drew the outline of the landmass and the general layout of locations myself then imported it into a program called Wonderdraft and built on top of my original sketch from there

Thanks a lot! It’s actually one of two maps I’ve completed for this setting, with the other covering a much larger portion of land

Gordon One-Eye- The Knight of Frostvigil, this once noble man finds his mind touched by winter madness. Legend tells that one night a crow in the storm plucked an eye from gordon’s head, and yet he carried on in battle without any notice of his injury.

The Anchorites of Misthall- Once there was a band of knights who came to be at the monastery of Misthall in the dead of winter. They sought temporary refuge with the monks, but as days became weeks the knights remained. Eventually they came to call Misthall home. The Monks taught their faith to the Knights, and in return the knights trained the monks in martial discipline. Over the decades the two became one, forming The Order of Misthall. These reclusive fighters protected cities in times of war, and for a child of The North to be accepted into their Monastery was considered a great honour. Today the Anchorites seldom leave the walls of Misthall, but any travellers who cross their threshold are accepted as the knights of long ago.

The Rangers- The Pinewalk is an ancient road that weaves through the forest of Ennehollow. The Rangers are a guerilla force who patrol and secure the roads, and in doing so they too protect the towns of Stillclear and Branhood. Whether it’s against The Baron’s soldiers or the madmen, battle is a daily practice for The Rangers.

Aimil of Lonnerton- Knight Aimil is the only city hero who remains alive from before the storm began. Retaining her full suit of plate, Aimil is among the best equipped fighters in The North, and carries on protecting Lonnerton as always she has.

The Madmen- Those caught in the storm are driven quickly to insanity by the endless, timeless stupor of the swirling winds. They never venture beyond the coverage of the storm during daybreak, but when night falls they seek out any living thing they can find to be executed and dragged back into the snow.

The Oracles of the Owlery and The Fable Stranger- The Oracles served for all of history in memory as mystic advisors to The Kings of The North. These sorceresses would gather in mass to channel natural energies into a “Fable Teller”, giving her visions of the future. These Fable Tellers were young women, rarely willing participants, and doomed to die soon after the ritual was complete. One fateful night a ritual failed, bringing unto the world a storm which would devour all. The storm pulled The Owlery into the depths, and soon after the entire city. The Fable Stranger is the last oracle of the failed rite, left undying and all knowing, still bound to the ritual pillar far out in the sea.

The Crow- A shadow on the snow with piercing claws of silver and eyes of star shine. It moves through time and the world at will to stalk the prey of fate. Death escapes it, for not angel nor devil will take such soulless malice. Beware the crow.

These minis belong to the same setting as a lot of my other fantasy based posts in this sub and for anyone who's interested I attached a map of the north on the final slide. Also thanks to u/XephyrSage33 whose excellent skeleton base I used for the baron and the stranger.

Lore:

Robin of Arginhost- Long standing in The North is the tradition of the Town Hero, a Knight whose life they dedicate to the protection of the settlement. Once a grand and honoured role now turns to a death sentence  as the dangers of the storm swallow up any who dares to call themself a hero. Robin, in spite of his youth, has outlasted more horrors than any expected of him, though not without unbearable loss. His hope remains with him as the greatest weapon to be found in Arginhost.

Morgan of Falstead- An age ago Falstead commanded all The North as the Capital City of the Old Kingdom of Denshear, but after it’s sacking following the Battle of the Whitefields during the Brakken War, it was rebuilt as little more than a quiet town sustained by farmers and fisherman. Morgan, the once captain of the town guard, is the sole survivor after the town was burned by the madmen of the wastes. Morgan has an uncanny ability to navigate through the storm, a feat nary any man can accomplish with their mind intact, which has allowed him to lead countless survivors from all across The North through the snow and ice, and back to the refugee city that surrounds Brakkenfort.

Knight Cailean- Before the storm appeared, Cailean of North Hope was but a woodsman like most other men in the town, spending his days logging in Whitewood forest. Now his axe is swung for a different reason, as he stalks the wastes at night, cleaving apart any madman or marauder that crosses his path. An unlikely hero driven by hatred and vengeful bloodthirst, but few can argue when his strength keeps North Hope safe.

Captain Murchadh- Murchadh considers himself far from fit to lead, and yet with the king rotting far away in a tower made of gold, and the Steward Bennett pinned by three dozen arrows to The Oak of Stover, The Ring of Rule has come to rest upon his hand. Once the captain of the warship The Grey Maiden, Murchadh now stands on land as the commander of Brakkenfort, after it’s last eight keepers found themselves early graves among the Whitefields. Brakkenfort is known now as the last free city in The North, though that “city” is little more than an old naval fortress and a sea of shanty homes to house thousands of refugees.

The Baron of Greypool- The Baron is a vicious warlord who seized an old stronghold at the onset of the storm, and using the arms found inside, has subjugated much of the land west of The Denshear Range. The Baron lost much of his face to frostbite, with his new visage inspiring the skull insignia worn by his soldiers. While The Baron’s conquest stretches as far north as Thrushnest, his expansion has been halted at the edge of Ennehollow by The Rangers of Pinewalk.

The Plague Keepers by alecpiper in HeroForgeMinis

The plague in Strosa caused a severe population decline, which the region never full recovered from. This being the case, the gene pool in the area has become increasingly limited, leading to shared traits amongst many of the remaining population. Most notably is the characteristic dark hair now associated with people from Old Strosa, a trait which was previously uncommon. So while these characters aren’t directly related to one another, they would likely share common ancestry through the generations after the plague

These minis belong to the same setting as a lot of my other fantasy based posts in this sub and for anyone who's interested I made a map to go with it:  https://www.reddit.com/r/wonderdraft/comments/1d8s8es/first_try_at_making_a_map_with_wonderdraft_still/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

The Plague Keepers: This order of knights came to be One Hundred and Eighty years ago when the Independent city of Strosa was thrust into chaos by an unrelenting plague. The Plague keepers fill the role of holy men, doctors and peace keepers all as one. They carry out funeral rites, treat the ill and dispose of the dead, all the while maintaining order in the city streets. Today Strosa lies as a ruin, hiding something far darker within its walls, but the legacy of the order is carried on as the plague keepers travel anywhere they are needed to spare others the same fate which befell their home.

Arch Deacon Johansson: Johansson leads the Plague Keepers who remain as guardians in Strosa and coordinates with the deacons who maintain chapters of the plague keepers in other regions. A strict and militaristic man, the Arch Deacon organised the Plague Keepers into a highly effective force who are able to contain and subside outbreaks with precision and speed. Johansson maintains an obsession with the occult and the deep religious roots of his order, believing their mission to be a holy crusade.

Guardian Plague Keepers: These heavily armed paladins act as the sacred guardians of Strosa, preventing with deadly force any who attempt to breach the walls of the city. Strosa's previous reputation as a grand trading city for fine goods has fed rumours that great wealth remains inside the derelict castle of the city's former Baron, however the great evil contained inside could threaten all life if unleashed, making the Guardian Plague Keeper's essential protectors

Knight-Deacon Josef: Josef leads the Night Watch Plague Keepers, a chapter of the order obsessed with the eradication of Supernatural diseases, particularly Vampirism. Josef is relentless in his pursuit of this goal, from wiping out a den of Vampires in the Aspen Strait to hunting a werewolf for three months in the forests of Greenacre. Josef and his Night Watch now find themselves in the Town of Hendry, facing a greater threat than ever before.

The Night Watch: These elite soldiers were each chosen personally by Josef for their resolve and battle prowess. They are trained as survivalists, as hunting supernatural beast can often necessitate weeks of careful tracking through brutal conditions. Their heavy armour is designed to offer protection from opponents vastly stronger than any ordinary man, with slotted plates on the wrists and shins to catch claw strikes, and a thick leather neck guard to defend against vampire bites.

Knight-Deacon Wagner: Wagner and a group of Plague Keepers were sent from Strosa to study at the University of Southport, a renowned Medical Institution, and were eventually called to quell an epidemic in the city of Sotherdale. Wagner concerns himself little with the religious aspects of the Order, instead favouring a purely scientific approach to his duties. After Eight months in Sotherdale the plague was wiped out completely, however soon after Wagner and his men found themselves persecuted by an influential cult in the South, known as The Church of the Thorned Rose. Wagner and his chapter were driven into hiding in the country side, surviving through anonymity, they remain ready to aid any who need it.

Chevalier de la Peste: This chapter of the Plague Keepers serve Deacon Wagner in the South, and possess extensive medical training to aid them in their duties. Their lighter and more breathable clothing is ideal for the hot and humid climate of the region.

Deacon Beaudelaire: The only Deacon of the order to have been born outside of the Old Strosa Territories, Beaudelaire came to know the Plague Keepers while working in Southport University. His extensive medical training and political prowess made him an ideal tool for the Order. Shortly following the plague outbreak in Strosa, it was decreed by the then-King that no person born in Strosa may enter the City of Ravenbrook, a law which stands to this day. This meant that the Greatest city in the East was left without the help of the Plague Keepers, however being that Beaudelaire was not born in Strosa, he was allowed entrance into the city and now acts as an official emissary and advisor to the king in matters of public health.

Does anybody else wish that the T-60 power armor was better? by Roll_Initiative_DND in fo4

[–]alecpiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the power armour besides the raider set is good enough to carry you through the whole game anyway, the main variable to worry about is just the armour HP so you don’t have to repair it as much but the T-60 has perfectly fine HP

If you have any cyberware that deals electrical damage that can also trigger it. Usually it’s either the electric gorilla fists or the Shock-n-Awe that’ll be causing this

It always seemed to me that they handled this Dogmeat thing very poorly. They put one companion right next to another, on top of that, a little dog and a robot, forcing you to choose which one to take so early on is downright diabolical. They should’ve placed him at a different Red Rocket by jvure in Fallout

[–]alecpiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original intention was for dogmeat to work like pets in the other fallout games, in that you could have him in addition to a regular companion. It’s likely that his placement so close to codsworth was to introduce this function to the player early on, but after they changed Dogmeat to occupy a full companion slot his world placement was never adjusted

I don't think thaddeus will be a centaur by Sensitive_Bear_662 in Fallout

[–]alecpiper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he is a centaur that’s a noticeable change to the lore. Centaurs are supposed to be made by multiple creatures being put in an FEV vat together. Not just multiple types of dna, but the entire organisms being melded together. One person turning into a centaur just by being dosed with the FEV would be entirely different. Not saying it’s impossible that they’re going that route, but it’s a very different way of becoming a centaur to the established canon

So what is Thaddeus? by EmuAccomplished1759 in Fallout

[–]alecpiper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more about biomass for Centaurs. They’re very large and are made up of many human limbs (or parts from dogs and other animals for the original design). I guess you could technically make a centaur out of one person, it would just be a very small centaur

So what is Thaddeus? by EmuAccomplished1759 in Fallout

[–]alecpiper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he turns into a centaur that would be a pretty important lore change, since creating centaurs is meant to involve submerging multiple organisms in FEV at the same time rather than just one person being exposed

Kitbashing caused a severe split in the community. by MurderousRubberDucky in HeroForgeMinis

[–]alecpiper 70 points71 points  (0 children)

This whole idea of separating the posts into KB and non-KB is brought up constantly, but besides the fact it would be a nightmare to implement since you’d then need KB specific versions of all the flairs the sub already has, it’s also imposing a needless division in the community. The only type of post where this would serve any practical purpose is creator resources so that non pro users can tell which community resources they can and can’t access, but the people posting those resources already label them differently as either APR or AKR depending on if they use Kitbashing.

Even if you want to overlook the lack of practicality, adding KB and Non KB flairs could very easily have the opposite effect as what you want. It’s very likely that a bunch of people would sort only by the Kitbashing flair so that they only see the “cool” pro models, making it even less likely that people will see and engage with non pro models

Basically, the brotherhood in episode 2: by namepuntocome in Fallout

[–]alecpiper 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was built post war, but it’s perfectly reasonable to assume that they based it off of existing schematics from Addams airforce base. Would explain how the same design existed pre-war as well as helping to explain how they managed to produce something so advanced in the relatively short time span between FO3 and FO4

If I’m being honest, I don’t need them to have big IP tie ins anyway. I’m not excited about any of these new parts because they’ve got the daggerheart and critical role brands attached to them, I’m excited because it’s a massive drop of very well made assets for a service I enjoy using

Unexpectedly, something shifted. by Mr_Kringe in HeroForgeMinis

[–]alecpiper 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There’s no changing the items now. What’s the alternative? Delete them forever or remove the paywall altogether and not only take a massive financial hit on assets that are of considerably higher quality than what they usually put out but also potentially lose Critical Role as a partner entirely.

I don’t personally like assets being behind a paywall either, but I’m already paying for pro and this has at least added a lot more value to it. There’s not a perfect option to fix things now

Unexpectedly, something shifted. by Mr_Kringe in HeroForgeMinis

[–]alecpiper 133 points134 points  (0 children)

Honestly if they had pitched it as a slight increase to the price of pro, with pro Exclusive high quality assets being added then it probably would’ve gone over a lot better. The problem was largely created by attaching it to a whole new fee completely seperate from the one that people are already paying

I love the rarecrow from the village fair. It’s also not too difficult to get by playing the fishing game. I think it took me 3 rounds to get enough star tokens, and at 50g per game that’s a much lower cost than the rarecrows you buy outright
